Technologies are generally described herein for storing log records in non-volatile memory. Transaction data may be accessed that is associated with one or more transactions that modify a data storage device. The transaction data may be stored in a cache that is coupled to the data storage device. The log records corresponding to transaction data may also be stood in a non-volatile memory (NVM) that is coupled to the data storage device. Log records may be synchronized with the data storage device.

Technologies are generally described herein to detect non-volatile write request sequences. A write request is received to write to a solid-state device that includes the non-volatile memory. A determination is made as to whether the write request is part of a non-volatile write request sequence or is not pan of the non-volatile write request sequence, in response to determining that the write request is part of the non-volatile write request sequence, the write request is associated with the non-volatile write request sequence. In response to determining that the write request is not part of the non-volatile write request sequence, the data associated with the write request is written to a cache that is coupled to the non-volatile memory. The data associated with the non-volatile write request sequences may be written directly to the non-volatile memory.

A mixed cache is indexed to main memory and page coloring is applied to map main memory to virtual memory. A nursery array and a mature array are indexed to virtual memory. An access to a virtual page from the mixed cache is recorded by determining an index and a tag of an array address based on a virtual address, following the index to corresponding rows in the nursery and the mature arrays, and determining if the tag in the array address matches any tag in the rows. When there is a match to a tag in the rows, an access count in a virtual page entry corresponding to the matched tags is incremented. When there is no match, a virtual page entry in the row in the nursery array is written with the tag in the array address and an access count in the entry is incremented.

In some examples, a main computing device may be configured to segment the video stream into multiple video clips processing a video stream that includes multiple frames. Further, the main computing device may be configured to distribute the video clips to multiple computing nodes to extract the metadata of moving objects in the video clips. The extracted metadata of a same moving object that appears in different video clips may be further merged together by the main computing device.

To provide access to USB devices coupled to a client computing device for a user of virtual machine executing on a server, the server, in some examples, may be configured to pack USB request blocks into IP data packets and transmit the IP data packets over a network. Responsive to receiving the IP data packets, the client computing device may extract the USB request blocks from the IP data packets and provide the access to the USB devices for the virtual machine user.

Methods and systems are described for assessing the results of a bioassay between probe biomolecules and target biomolecules using a conventional optical disc drive. Particular methods involve: bonding the probe biomolecules to a polycarbonate (PC) surface of an optical disc having digital data comprising error-detection redundancies recorded thereon; introducing the target biomolecules to the PC surface of the optical disc in a vicinity of the bonded probe biomolecules; processing the bioassay to alter a manner in which a read light from the optical disc drive interacts optically with the optical disc in a vicinity of positive bioassay results where the target biomolecules have bonded to the probe biomolecules; reading the digital data from the optical disc using the optical drive and using the error-detection redundancies to detect errors in the digital data read by the optical drive; mapping the detected errors to corresponding locations on the optical disc; and determining that positive bioassay results have occurred at the locations of the detected errors.

Support for virtualization in a storage area networks may be provided using a variety of techniques. In one embodiment of the present invention, exchange level load balancing may be provided by determining if input/outputs (IOs) received by a device are new. If a particular IO is new, the IO may be assigned to a particular data path processor and an context may be created corresponding to the IO and to the processor. Then, when an event corresponding to the IO is received, the event may be forwarded to the processor assigned to the IO.

The present invention relates to novel processes for the preparation of substituted tetralin and substituted indane derivatives. The present invention is further directed to novel processes for the preparation of intermediates in the preparation of the substituted tetralin and substituted indane derivatives.

Knitwear modeling is disclosed. A macrostructure corresponding to a three-dimensional object is generated, based on a stitch pattern and optionally a color pattern. Yarn microstructure is generated and applied to the macrostructure to yield a knitwear model. The stitch positions of the macrostructure can be perturbed to achieve stitch position irregularities. The fluffiness of the yarn microstructure can be controlled. In an alternative embodiment, a two-dimensional knitwear texture is generated, which can then be mapped to a three-dimensional object to yield a knitwear model.
