    摘要: For use on automobiles, the invention provides a compact device for measuring the concentration of a nitrogen oxide in a combustion gas such as an exhaust gas of an internal combustion gas. The device has an ion pumping cell using an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte to adjust the partial pressure of oxygen in a gas diffusion chamber and a sensor such as an oxygen concentration cell using a solid electrolyte to detect the partial pressure of oxygen in the chamber. The pumping cell or the concentration cell is provided with a catalyst which decomposes the nitrogen oxide in the diffusion chamber only when the partial pressure of coexisting oxygen is sufficiently low. In the device the current supplied to the pumping cell is measured when the partial pressure of oxygen in the diffusion chamber is low enough for the activity of the catalyst and also when the oxygen partial pressure is made too high, and the concentration of the nitrogen oxide in the gas is computed from the two values of the current and the known relationship between the concentration of oxygen in the gas and the current necessary for keeping each of the high and low partial pressures of oxygen. It is convenient to use a pair of combinations of the pumping cell and the concentration cell to keep the high partial pressure of oxygen in one combination and the low partial pressure of oxygen in the other.

    摘要: A flame photometric detector analyzer comprises a first conduit through which a fuel gas flows, a fuel gas nozzle connected to the first conduit to be supplied with the fuel gas to form a flame at the tip thereof, a second conduit through which a combustion supporting gas is supplied to the vicinity of the tip of the fuel gas nozzle to assist the combustion of the fuel gas discharged from the nozzle, a third conduit through which a sample gas having a measuring object component is supplied to the flame, a device for controlling the concentration of oxygen contained in the combustion supporting gas to be supplied to the flame within a range from 11.5 to 16%, and a device responsive to photoemission from the measuring object component of the sample gas introduced into the flame, thereby decreasing the effect of interference substances to obtain high accuracy of measurement even though the measuring object is of considerably low concentration.

    摘要: A field effect transistor includes a source electrode and a drain electrode disposed on a compound semiconductor substrate, a gate electrode having a T-shaped cross-section, and a gate pad having a T-shaped cross-section disposed at one side of the gate electrode, the gate electrode and the gate pad having a reinforcing thin metal film reinforcing the gate electrode on the rear surface of an overhanging portion of the head of the gate electrode and gate pad. Therefore, the head of the gate electrode is hardly ever separated from the leg of the gate electrode and a highly reliable T-shaped gate electrode is obtained. The gate electrode leg is produced using a thin film to which a pattern of the gate electrode is transcribed as a mask, thereby reducing the length of the head of the gate electrode. Accordingly, a T-shaped gate electrode is located in a deeper gate recess than ever without causing deterioration in the repeatability of its production.

    摘要: In an automatic test vehicle driving system on a chassis dynamometer, a table between accelerator actuator stroke and engine output torque and a table between engine friction loss power and engine speed are formed and stored by teaching operation before vehicle travel test. During travel test, command accelerator actuator strokes are determined with reference to the formed stroke-torque table when the test vehicle is accelerated or kept at a constant speed to reduce setting time for each test vehicle. Further, it is determined whether vehicle speed can be decelerated by only engine brake or by depression of brake pedal with reference to the formed friction loss power-engine speed table to prevent unnecessary braking operation. Since engine output torque can be determined in open-loop control, complicated control gain adjustment setting work can be eliminated.
