Abstract:
Circuit and method for driving a plasma display panel, the method including the steps of (1) applying first scan pulses to a first driving block, which is any one of the driving blocks, in every given driving cycle starting from a first scan electrode line to (n)th scan electrode line in succession, and (2) applying second scan pulses each having a given application time difference from the application time of the first scan pulse to a second driving block adjacent to the first driving block starting from (m)th scan line to a first scan line in a reverse sequence to the first scan pulses, whereby preventing an occurrence of flicker because interfaces between driving blocks are continuous with respect to and providing a PDP having a resolution better than an HDTV because intervals of scan pulse application to adjacent lines are short.
Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and a method for processing MIDI in a wireless terminal capable of controlling a volume of sound source samples when the MIDI is played. According to the method, a plurality of notes, volume levels, volume section information, and note playback duration information are extracted from an inputted MIDI file. After a volume sample number in each section is calculated using the extracted volume level and the volume section information, a volume of the sound source samples that correspond to a note that is to be played is controlled using the volume sample numbers. Next, frequency of the sound source samples are converted to a frequency assigned to the notes and the sound source samples are outputted, reducing a system load caused by the real-time play of the MIDI.
Abstract:
A large capacity memory module mounting device employed in a portable terminal is provided, including a large capacity memory module including a plurality of first contact pads; and a flexible circuit board including a plurality of second contact pads and electrically connected to the large capacity memory module by forming solder pads in a heating process after the first and second contact pads are positioned in a face-to-face manner. Accordingly, the large capacity memory module can be advantageously mounted to the portable terminal and an electromagnetic field can be effectively shielded.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for synthesizing a MIDI based on a wave table are provided. According to the method, sound samples of a plurality of instruments stored in a wave table are compressed and stored so as to reduce the storage space required by the wave table. Bit streams for the samples are decoded to synthesize a MIDI when a specific instrument's sound samples are requested.
Abstract:
A line erasing method and apparatus for a plasma display panel that is capable of reducing a brightness difference between lines thereof. In the method and apparatus, a load amount per line is detected for lines including a pair of electrodes for causing a sustaining discharge to control a sustaining interval in accordance with a deviation in the load amount per line.

A front pillar apparatus of a vehicle includes a panel portion supporting a windshield of the vehicle from an upper portion of the vehicle and a pillar portion connected to both ends of the panel portion to support the panel portion, wherein the panel portion includes an outer panel disposed in an outward direction of the vehicle and an inner panel disposed in an inward direction of the vehicle and formed to be extended in an direction of the outer panel, which apparatus has improved stiffness.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a stacked integration module having a small thickness while guaranteeing thermal and operational stabilities when operated at high frequencies. The stacked integration module includes a printed circuit board having first and second surfaces facing each other, at least one hole extending through the first and second surfaces, and a recess formed on the second surface; and a metallic member having an upper surface, the second surface of the printed circuit board being seated on the upper surface while making contact with the upper surface. The stacked integration module is simpler than conventional modules in terms of structure and process. The metallic member, which is made of a plate-shaped material having a larger area than conventional heat-radiation means, is advantageous for cooling and electromagnetic wave shielding.
Abstract:
A method for driving an AC-type Plasma Display Panel (PDP), and more particularly, for improving the brightness and contrast of the panel by reducing the time of scanning while increasing the discharge time of cells. Accordingly, a video signal is designed to change, as needed, the sequential order of two bits, to insert appropriate erasing pulses into vertical electrodes according to the sequential order of the two bits, and to select the erasing time of each cell being connected to horizontal electrodes. Thus, combining any two or a plurality of subfields reduces the time of scanning while increasing the discharging time of the cells.
