    摘要: A non-silver, positive-working, essentially alkali-insoluble, radiation-sensitive composition, which becomes alkali-soluble on exposure to radiation, comprising a non-silver, positive-acting, essentially alkali-insoluble radiation-sensitive component a radiation absorbing component and an essentially alkali-soluble polymeric binder. A radiation-sensitive element comprising a transparent substrate overcoated with said radiation-sensitive composition. A duplicating film comprising the said element prepared by exposing said composition through the substrate and then image-wise exposing said composition through a mask in front of the composition followed by treatment with an alkaline developer to remove those areas of the composition subjected to both exposures.

    摘要: Provided are photosensitive compositions which are suitable for use in forming optical waveguides. The compositions include a polymer having units of the formula (RSiO1.5), wherein R is a substituted or unsubstituted organic group, and a photoactive component for altering the solubility of the polymer upon exposure to actinic radiation. The photoactive component is non-ionic and has an associated wavelength of maximum absorption of greater than 300 nm. Also provided are methods of forming optical waveguides as well as optical waveguides. The compositions, methods and optical waveguides have particular use in the formation of printed wiring boards having electrical and optical functionality.

    摘要: Provided are photodefinable compositions suitable for use in forming an optical waveguide. The compositions include a silsesquioxane polymer having polymerized units of the formula (R1SiO1.5) and (R2SiO1.5), wherein R1 and R2 are different and are substituted or unsubstituted organic side chain groups and are free of hydroxy groups, and two or more functional end groups, and a photoactive component. The solubility of the silsesquioxane polymer is altered upon exposure to actinic radiation such that the composition is developable in an aqueous developer solution. Also provided are methods of forming an optical waveguide with the inventive compositions, optical waveguides, and electronic devices including one or more optical waveguide.
