摘要: A connector is provided for forming a substance transfer pathway between two or more volumes without exposing the interior contents of the volumes to an exterior environment. A removable cover is provided over a flap-defining membrane or boundary element, wit h the flap including an adhesive. Two receptacles and/or conduits may be connected to one another with corresponding connectors by removing the covers, registering the flaps, joining the receptacles and/or conduits, and then freeing the flaps from the surrounding membranes.

摘要: In one embodiment, there is a method for storing fluids in a bag that has an inner lining that is essentially sterilized and essentially free of pyrogen. The method comprises heating the bag that is comprised of a polymeric film to at least approximately 253° Celsius. The polymeric film includes a polymer selected from the group of poly(oxy-1,4-phenylene-oxy-1,4-phenylene-carbonyl-1,4-phenylene) (PEEK); polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE); a perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) polymer; poly(tetrafluoroethylene-co-perfluoromethyl vinyl ether) (MFA); polyperfluoro(ethylene-co-propylene) (FEP); poly(ethylene-alt-chlorotrifluoroethylene) (ECTFE); poly(ethylene-co-tetrafluoroethylene) (ETFE); poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PDVF); tetrafluoroethylene-co-hexafluoropropylene-co-vinylidene fluoride terpolymer (THV); ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW PE); (poly(bisphenol A-co-4-nitrophthalic anhydride-co-1,3-phenylenediamine) (PEI); poly(4-methyl-1-pentene) (PMP); and suitable mixtures thereof.

摘要: A mixing apparatus including a kinetic energy source, a mixing tank, a pivot guide, and transfer shaft is used to drive a mixing paddle through a circular path within a tank without substantial shaft rotation. Sleeved and sleeveless mixing paddles are provided in combination with sealable mixing tanks. A volumetric compensation system responsive to tank wall deflection is used to maintain the internal volume of a mixing tank within predetermined limits. One mixing apparatus includes multiple mixing shafts and paddles coupled to at least one kinetic energy source. Methods for fabricating sleeved paddle-containing mixing apparatuses are further provided.

摘要: A mixing apparatus including a kinetic energy source, a mixing tank, a pivot guide, and transfer shaft is used to drive a mixing paddle through a circular path within a tank without substantial shaft rotation. Sleeved and sleeveless mixing paddles are provided in combination with sealable mixing tanks.
