摘要: In a process for producing phenol, cyclohexylbenzene is contacted with an oxygen-containing compound in the presence of an oxidation catalyst comprising a cyclic imide under oxidation conditions effective to produce a product comprising cyclohexylbenzene hydroperoxide and unreacted cyclic imide catalyst. Without removing all the unreacted cyclic imide catalyst, at least a portion of the product is contacted with an acidic molecular sieve under conditions effective to adsorb at least a portion of the unreacted cyclic imide and to convert at least part of the cyclohexylbenzene hydroperoxide in the product portion into phenol and cyclohexanone.

摘要: A hydrocarbon conversion process is described. The process includes contacting in a reactor an inert gas with one or more catalyst compositions suitable for methylation of toluene and hydrogenation of phenol; contacting a reducing agent with the one or more catalyst compositions under conditions suitable for reducing metal oxide content of the catalyst composition; contacting at least part of toluene and/or benzene-containing with a oxygenate in the presence of the one or more catalyst compositions and under conditions effective to convert toluene to xylenes and produce a reactor effluent stream comprising para-xylene and having a lower concentration of phenol than the toluene-containing stream; separating at least one para-xylene-enriched stream from the reactor effluent stream; and separating from the at least one para-xylene enriched stream at least one toluene-enriched stream and at least one para-xylene-product stream. An apparatus for carrying out such a process is also described.

摘要: In a process for the dehydrogenation of at least one dehydrogenatable hydrocarbon, at least one dehydrogenatable hydrocarbon selected from an oxygen-containing six-membered carbon ring compound is supplied to a first dehydrogenation reaction zone together with at least one stabilizing compound selected from a non-oxygen-containing six membered carbon ring compound to the first dehydrogenation reaction zone, such that the weight ratio of the stabilizing compound to the dehydrogenatable hydrocarbon supplied to the first dehydrogenation reaction zone is in the range of from 1:200 to 200:1. The dehydrogenation feed stream and the at least one stabilizing compound are contacted with a first dehydrogenation catalyst in the first dehydrogenation reaction zone under dehydrogenation conditions to convert at least a portion of the dehydrogenatable hydrocarbon into an unsaturated six-membered carbon ring compound and hydrogen.

摘要: In a process for producing cyclohexylbenzene, hydrogen, and benzene are contacted in a first reaction zone under conditions effective to produce a product effluent containing residual benzene in the vapor phase and cyclohexylbenzene in the liquid phase. The product effluent is separated into a first stream that is rich in residual benzene in the vapor phase as compared to the product effluent and a second stream that is rich in cyclohexylbenzene in the liquid phase as compared to the product effluent. At least a portion of the first stream is cooled to condense at least a portion of the residual benzene in the vapor phase to the liquid phase and produce a condensate stream. At least a portion of the condensate stream is recycled to the first reaction zone.

摘要: A process for oxidizing a composition comprising contacting an alkylbenzene of the general formula (I): where R1 and R2 each independently represents hydrogen or an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, wherein R1 and R2 may be joined to form a cyclic group having from 4 to 10 carbon atoms, the cyclic group being optionally substituted, and R3 represents hydrogen, one or more alkyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a cyclohexyl group; and (ii) about 0.05 wt % to about 5 wt % of phenol, with oxygen in the presence of a catalyst containing a cyclic imide having the general formula (II): wherein X represents an oxygen atom, a hydroxyl group, or an acyloxy group under conditions effective to convert at least a portion of the alkylbenzene to a hydroperoxide.

摘要: In a process for producing phenol, a composition comprising an alkylaromatic compound is contacted with an oxygen-containing stream in the presence of an oxidation catalyst comprising a cyclic imide under oxidation conditions effective to oxidize 15 wt % or less of the alkylaromatic compound based upon the total weight of the composition and produce an oxidation product comprising unreacted alkylaromatic compound and alkylaromatic hydroperoxide in a molar ratio of 6:1 to 100:1. Thereafter, at least a portion of the oxidation product is contacted with an acidic molecular sieve catalyst under cleavage conditions effective to convert at least a portion of the alkylaromatic hydroperoxide into phenol and cyclohexanone.

摘要: In a process for producing phenol, cyclohexylbenzene is oxidized to produce cyclohexylbenzene hydroperoxide and then the resultant cyclohexylbenzene hydroperoxide is cleaved to produce an effluent stream comprising phenol and cyclohexanone. At least a portion of the effluent stream is then fed to at least one dehydrogenation reaction zone, where the effluent stream portion is contacted with a dehydrogenation catalyst under conditions effective to convert at least part of the cyclohexanone in the effluent portion into phenol and hydrogen.
