    摘要: A wastewater treatment system includes independent wastewater treatment facilities. Each of the facilities has a number of wastewater treatment subsystems. A wastewater collection subsystem holds wastewater to be treated. A pump subsystem moves wastewater from a wastewater collector to a filtration subsystem having a bioreacting filter. The filter has a sump and a fluidized-bed filter therein and supports the filter upright. The filter has an upwardly expanding, hollow, conical filter body with filter media. A monitoring subsystem measures wastewater process parameters. Control devices receive control commands and, dependent upon the command received, alter parameters of the wastewater treatment subsystems. A communication device connects the wastewater treatment subsystems and the control devices and sends information corresponding to the wastewater process parameters measured by the monitors, receives control messages corresponding to the control commands, and transmits control commands the control devices to, thereby, alter a wastewater process parameter.

    摘要: A multisensor high-resolution camera splices together sub-images obtained from a plurality of fiber bundles and can play back these sub-images as a single composite image in real time. The camera can output the composite image as a single high-resolution analog video image or as a stream of digital data. The camera produces these composite images from the optical sub-images output by tapered or nontapered fiber bundles. A scan converter splices together video signals output from the plurality of video cameras or the multiport video camera/cameras each of which is optically coupled to one of the plurality of fiber bundles. The sensor arrays can also be driven directly. In this case each sensor array is coupled to one of the fiber bundles. The sensor arrays are either multiple single port integrated circuit (IC) sensor arrays such as CCD arrays or multiport (IC) arrays.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an energy conversion system and more particularly to the related apparatus and process. The system includes a reactor chamber having an input for a reactive substance supplied from a supply vessel, and means for receiving and transmitting a focused beam of electromagnetic or other radiation into the reactor itself. The reactor chamber is positioned with respect to means for collecting and focusing radiation, such as, electromagnetic radiation, such that a beam of focused radiation passes through the receiving and transmitting means provided in the wall of the reactor. The focused beam of radiation is, therefore, employed to induce a reactive substance to react to produce reaction products at high temperatures and elevated pressures. Advantageously, the reaction is reversible. The pressurized materials thus obtained in the reactor chamber are controllably exhausted through the output means and introduced into means for converting the heat and pressure of the pressurized materials into other useful work. Following that conversion, the materials are passed through to a heat sink. The reaction materials re-associate to the original reactants and thereafter are stored for recycling. The process can be continuously operated.

    摘要: An x-ray detector includes a scintillator, a sensor array, processing circuits, and a ceramic layer. The ceramic layer overlays the processing circuits. The pixel architecture of the detector utilizes a technique similar to a CCD array to shift data from the array. The detector preferably utilizes 4-side abuttable sensor arrays having imbedded shift registers and bond pads superimposed over the pixel array in the upper metallization layers of the sensor. An alternative embodiment incorporates a silicon-on-insulator substrate to produce a monolithic large area substrate and a contiguous uninterrupted pixel array over the entire imaging surface.
