摘要: A system and method for regulating temperature of a microprocessor include an oscillator having a frequency which varies based on temperature of the microprocessor wherein the oscillator is connected to the clock input of the microprocessor. The system and method allow operation of the microprocessor at reduced clock frequencies in an attempt to reduce heat generation and stabilize the microprocessor temperature prior to occurrence of a permanent failure due to an operation at excessive temperature.

摘要: A control system and method is provided for controlling engagement of a vehicle master clutch (16) in response to a throttle operating parameter. The method includes the steps of determining a throttle operating parameter value and setting an operating mode of the clutch based on the throttle operating parameter value. The method may include the steps of comparing the throttle operating parameter value to a threshold value and setting the operating mode of the clutch based on the comparison step. The control system includes a microprocessor for receiving signals corresponding to a throttle operating parameter value. The microprocessor sets an operating mode of the clutch based on the throttle operating parameter value or, optionally, the comparison of the throttle operating parameter value to a threshold value.

摘要: A fault tolerant method of gear selection which initiates a gear selection search in response to a gear upshift or downshift requirement in an attempt to locate a gear that, if used, would result in an engine speed between both upper and lower engine speed limits. The search progresses from the lowest to the highest gear in the case of an upshift requirement and from the highest to the lowest gear in the case of a downshift requirement.
