Abstract:
Devices for feeding fuel are already known which have a storage pot which can be filled by a suction jet pump. The storage pot has a pot base with an intake opening which opens into an intake chamber of the suction jet pump and through which the suction jet pump sucks in fuel. The intake chamber is fluidically connected to the storage pot via a mixer duct. A non-return valve is provided in the intake opening in order to prevent fuel from back-flowing. Considerable flow turbulence occurs within the suction jet pump, which flow turbulence can lead, in particular in the case of heated fuel, referred to as hot petrol, to the formation of gas bubbles. The delivery capacity of the suction jet pump is considerably reduced by the gas bubbles, with the result that under certain operating conditions the storage pot is not sufficiently filled and can run empty. In the device according to the invention, the flow turbulence is reduced. The invention provides that an oblique ramp for guiding the flow with little turbulence is provided at the junction with the mixer duct on the pot base of the storage pot inside the intake chamber.
Abstract:
A known fuel injection valve that can be secured to a fuel distributor by rotating the fuel injection valve about a longitudinal valve axis. A first electrical contact element extends out of the valve housing, parallel to the longitudinal valve axis. Such fuel injection valves can be electrically contacted by a bank of contacts that can be mounted on the fuel distributor in a direction of the longitudinal valve axis. The novel fuel injection valve includes first electrical contact elements which extend radially outward. By rotating the fuel injection valve about its longitudinal valve axis, an electrically conductive connection can be made between first electrical contact elements and second electrical contact elements that electrically contact the connection in the fuel injection valve. In this way, a simple, very compact, safe and secure electrical contacting of the fuel injection valves is attained. The electrically actuatable fuel injection valve according to the invention is especially suitable for fuel injection systems of mixture-compressing internal combustion engines with externally supplied ignition.
Abstract:
A method and a device for operating an internal combustion engine for a road vehicle having an automatic transmission, it being detected if the road vehicle is rolling back while forward gear is engaged, and the ignition angle of the internal combustion engine being changed to increase the torque of the internal combustion engine when back-rolling is detected while forward gear is engaged.
Abstract:
In a fuel supply system for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle with at least two fuel feeding aggregates arranged in a fuel tank, a control unit controls the fuel feeding aggregates, so that in dependence on determined data for longitudinal and/transverse inclination angles of the vehicle, at least one of the fuel feeding aggregates which provides a suction of fuel.
Abstract:
A description is given of a method for filling the fuel supply system in an internal combustion engine, in which the fuel pump is activated by the control unit. If the control unit recognizes, as a function of measured variables, that filling with fuel should take place, it activates the fuel pump in a manner such that a sufficient filling of fuel is already obtained before the internal combustion engine starts. If, on the other hand, the control unit recognizes a normal start, the customary method for controlling the electric fuel pump is executed. The time control of the electric fuel pump is changed over to normal activation also as a function of recognized termination conditions.
Abstract:
An apparatuses for pumping fuel to an internal combustion engine has a feed pump, a pressure line leading from the feed pump to the internal combustion engine, a check valve, and a pressure sensor connected to the pressure line is operatively connected to the pressure line downstream of the feed pump and upstream of the check valve. The measurement signal of the pressure sensor is used as a controlled variable for regulating the feed pump and/or for a leak diagnosis in the pressure line and/or for a tank leak diagnosis. The apparatus according to the invention is simplified because only a single pressure sensor is provided for the pressure change in the pressure line and in the tank.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for synchronizing at least two power-adjusting elements of an internal combustion engine which are electrically driven independently of each other. For carrying out the synchronization, the intervals between the respective combustions or the corresponding segment times of at least two cylinders are detected to which individual power-adjusting elements are allocated and their deviation is determined. At least one power-adjusting element is adjusted in order to maintain this deviation within a pregiven tolerance band. A correction of the control of the power-adjusting elements is derived in dependence upon the adjustment. The power-adjusting elements are adjusted in mutually opposite directions.
Abstract:
The invention proposes a method and apparatus for monitoring operating and/or driving parameters of a motor vehicle, whereby the measured data for monitoring the operating and/or driving functions supplied by a sensor are checked by the control function in dependence on the inclination angle of the motor vehicle in the longitudinal or transverse direction of the vehicle. If a specified limit for the inclination angle is exceeded, the error message is suppressed if the detected error occurs only briefly. Error messages relating to the fluid level in the tank cooling-water compartment, engine compartment, and transmission compartment can therefore be suppressed. The error is output only when an actual error exists the remains for a longer period of time. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, it is provided that error messages also be detected and evaluated as a function of dynamic driving parameters such as rotational speeds and/or accelerations. A preferred application is in off-road vehicles.
Abstract:
A tank venting device for motor vehicles having an internal combustion engine supplied from a fuel tank. The device includes a filter housing, which is connectable to a venting stub of the fuel tank and includes an adsorption filter, whose air inlet is occupied by a shutoff valve and whose air outlet communicates with an intake tube of the engine, and an air feed pump and a diagnosis device. To improve the metering capability for the regeneration mixture aspirated from the filter to the intake tube of the engine, the air feed pump is disposed with a reversible feeding direction between the air outlet of the filter housing and the intake tube of the engine. The air feed pump is controlled in its feeding direction reversal via a multiposition control valve such that the filter housing is located on the intake side of the air feed pump for the duration of filter regeneration, and on the pressure side of the air feed pump for the duration of error diagnosis.
