A method of producing an iron-based dispersion-strengthened alloy tube (2-1) by utilizing a rolling machine having grooved rolls (5, 5-1) and a mandrel (9)for forming the tube (2-1) from a raw rolling tube (2). In the method, a length of contact between a rolling surface (6, 6-1) of a caliber formed by the grooved rolls and an outer circumference of the rolling tube is set to be 0.9 times or more of a circumferential length of the rolling tube over the entire area of the rolling region. It is preferred that the method be performed by a Pilger type rolling machine.

A process for producing a polyphenylene ether is disclosed, comprising oxidatively polymerizing a phenol in an organic solvent in the presence of a catalyst for oxidative polymerization, finely dispersing the resulting polyphenylene ether containing the organic solvent in an aqueous dispersion medium containing an acid compound, and heating the aqueous dispersion to remove the solvent from the polyphenylene ether. The resulting polyphenylene ether has excellent powder properties and contains a reduced amount of a catalyst residue.

This catalyst has an increased polymerization activity and achieves a higher productivity. In addition, the catalyst enables the polymerization to conduct at relatively high temperatures.

Aqueous dispersions of olefin resins having a low film-forming temperature can be continuously produced by homogeneously mixing a mixture composed of olefin resin, partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol and water by means of an extruder having a multi-screw, and extruding the resulting dispersion.If partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol in which residual acetic acid groups are blocked is used, the film-forming temperature thereof is effectively lowered.
