Abstract:
A display for receiving video signals of a plurality of deflection frequencies including a conversion unit which is responsive to at least one of a horizontal frequency and a vertical frequency of an input video signal below at least one of at least one predetermined horizontal frequency within a first horizontal frequency range and at least one predetermined vertical frequency within a first vertical frequency range for converting the input video signal to have at least one of a converted horizontal frequency within the first horizontal frequency range and a converted vertical frequency within the first vertical frequency range. The conversion unit is further responsive to the at least one of the horizontal frequency and the vertical frequency of the input video signal being within at least one of the first horizontal frequency range and the first vertical frequency range for directly supplying the input video signal to the output of the conversion unit. The display is capable of displaying pictures represented by video signals from computers or image generating apparatus.
Abstract:
A display device and operation method thereof for displaying images processed on an image processing apparatus on a horizontally installed, upward facing display screen with the operation method for said display device comprising; a step for specifying the number of screens for display on the display screen, a step for displaying image information on a screen with a predetermined image direction in said display device based on the specified number of screens, a step to change the established display direction, a step to display said screen based on instructions for changing the display direction; and further comprising a step to specify the number of screens for display on said display screen and the direction of said display screen, a step to display an image on the display screen based on the specified number of screens and specified direction of the display screen thus allowing an ideal screen to be provided on a single display device for a plurality of users by changing the direction of the screen along with the number of screens for display. A user's own screen currently in use, can further be changed to face other users thus permitting joint use of information shown on the display screen of the display device.

Abstract:
A CRT display device capable of displaying a signal from the existing image signal source, in which a vertical frequency is approximately fixed and a horizontal frequency is widely distributed beyond a ratio of 3:1, on one image screen. The CRT display device includes a scan converter unit and a display unit. The scan converter unit includes an output horizontal frequency unifying circuit, a horizontal blanking period ratio converting circuit, a vertical frequency converting unit and a vertical blanking period ratio converting circuit. The display unit includes a vertical deflection circuit and a circuit for correcting a vertical S-shaped distortion. In a phase synchronous circuit, a lock-out detector is connected to an output of a three state output digital phase detector, and on the basis of an output thereof, a switch is subjected to the "ON"/"OFF" control. For a period of time when an output of the lock-out detector indicates a lock-out state, a loop gain of the PLL is increased and the pull-in time is shortened. For the remaining periods of time, i.e., in the steady state, the loop gain is decreased and the noise resistance characteristics are improved.
Abstract:
A switching regulator for a television receiver, wherein a non-stable dc voltage is periodically interrupted at the horizontal frequency by a chopper and the dc voltage obtained as the output of the chopper is applied to the horizontal output circuit. Flyback pulses generated by the horizontal output circuit are integrated to generate a saw-tooth waveform, and the dc component of the saw-tooth waveform is varied in accordance with the variation of the dc voltage delivered by the chopper. The duty ratio of the chopper is changed according to the variation of the dc component of the saw-tooth waveform.
Abstract:
A plasma display device is provided which includes a plurality of X electrodes, a plurality of Y electrodes arranged adjacent to the plurality of X electrodes for causing sustain discharges between the plurality of X electrodes and the plurality of Y electrodes, an X electrode drive circuit for applying a sustain discharge voltage to the plurality of X electrodes, and a Y electrode drive circuit for applying a sustain discharge voltage to the plurality of Y electrodes. The X electrode drive circuit and the Y electrode drive circuit have a first sustain drive mode in which discharge pulses to predetermined adjacent electrodes rise or fall in the same direction at the same time and a second sustain drive mode in which discharge pulses to all adjacent electrodes rise or fall at different timings.

Abstract:
A circuit for preventing an abnormally high voltage in a television receiver having a stabilized power supply circuit of a switching type, wherein a voltage proportional to the high voltage applied to the anode of the picture tube is always detected and when the high voltage abnormally rises, the output of the power supply circuit is interrupted by stopping the switching operation of the power supply circuit.
