Abstract:
The overall performance of water-reducible polymer dispersions, more specifically alkyd dispersions, can be substantially improved by utilizing resins derived from acidolysis reaction products of polyalkylene terephthalates and polyalkylene naphthalates. According to this invention, polymer dispersions can be produced from low acid value polymers and yet have good water dispersibility. When an aqueous coating composition is formulated using the dispersion of this invention, a final coating is formed that has good hydrolytic stability, and when blended with a latex, exhibits improved gloss and wet adhesion.

Abstract:
Film forming polymers derived substantially from biorenewable polysaccharides may be formed as the emulsion polymerization products of a blend of hydrophobic polysaccharides and ethylenically unsaturated monomers. The hydrophobic polysaccharides may be prepared as the emulsion reaction product of a water soluble polysaccharide and a monomer mixture of hydrophilic ethylenically unsaturated monomers and hydrophobic ethylenically unsaturated monomer, in the presence of a water soluble chain transfer agent.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an aqueous cleaning composition used to remove unwanted organic and inorganic residues and contaminants from semiconductor substrates. The cleaning composition comprises a urea derivative such as, for example, dimethyl urea, as the component that is principally responsible for removing organic residues from the substrate. A fluoride ion source is also included in the cleaning compositions of the present invention and is principally responsible for removing inorganic residues from the substrate. The cleaning compositions of the present invention have a low toxicity and are environmentally acceptable.
Abstract:
This invention describes an improvement in a process for purifying a nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) stream containing unreacted F2, HF, and nitrogen oxides from an NF3 reactor wherein the F2, and HF are removed and then the nitrogen oxides removed by adsorption. The improvement in the process resides in selectively removing the F2 from said NF3 stream without generating oxygen difluoride, removing HF and then removing said nitrogen oxides by adsorption. Further purification can be effected as desired.

Abstract:
This invention relates to fatty acid modified alkyd resins and the use thereof in formulation of high solids interior and exterior paints capable of curing at ambient temperatures without the use of appreciable amounts of solvent. More specifically, the invention relates to high solids alkyd coatings derived from fatty acid oil modified alkyd resins having low viscosities capable of forming finishes that have good physical characteristics such as high gloss, resistance to humidity, excellent adhesion and a good hardness. These oil modified alkyd resins have number average molecular weights of less than about 6,000 and are derived from the polymerization of drying oil fatty acids, dibasic aromatic acids, polyols, at least one unsaturated monocarboxylic acid and an unsaturated monohydric alcohol.
