When the vehicle is capable of being driven and the headlight is turned on, if an average illuminance value of the external illuminance value is equal to or higher than a predetermined value, then the second threshold value switches to the first threshold value. When the headlight is turned off, if the activation of the wiper has not been confirmed for a first predetermined period, then the second threshold value switches to the first threshold value.

    摘要: A vehicle cruise control system having an electric actuator for acting upon a throttle valve of a vehicle, a clutch for disconnecting the actuator from the throttle valve, a spring or the like for returning the output end of the clutch to a neutral state and a limit switch for detecting the limit of the motion of the output end of the clutch and discontinuing the supply of electric current to the actuator upon detection of the limit. Since the detection of the lower limit of the stroke of the actuator for decelerating the vehicle is necessary for preventing unnecessary supply of electric current to the actuator and overloading of the actuator, the closed state of the limit switch is tested by supplying an electric current to the actuator so as to decelerate the vehicle prior to starting the normal operation of the vehicle cruise control and determining if the electric current is indeed conducted through the actuator or not.

    摘要: An oxygen concentration sensing apparatus includes an oxygen pump element and a sensor cell element to be placed in a gas under measurement, and a device for generating a voltage value command indicating a voltage to be generated across electrodes of the sensor cell element. A current limit device is provided so that the supply of the voltage value command is stopped to decrease a pump current to the oxygen pump element gradually when the voltage generated across the electrodes of the sensor cell element exceeds a first predetermined voltage, and the pump current to the oxygen pump element is reduced immediately when the voltage generated across the electrodes of the sensor cell element exceeds a second predetermined voltage which is higher than the first predetermined voltage.

    摘要: A method of detecting abnormality in an air-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine, the air-fuel ratio control system having a proportional control valve arranged in an air supply passage for supplying secondary air therethrough to the engine and controlled in response to an output signal from an oxygen concentration sensor arranged in an exhaust system of the engine in a manner such that its valve opening varies in proportion to the magnitude of driving current supplied thereto. A circuit is provided which includes a first transistor, the proportional control valve, and a second transistor arranged in the order mentioned and serially connected with each other between a power source for supplying a predetermined voltage and ground. A value of voltage at a predetermined location in said circuit is sensed while the first and second transistors are in predetermined states of conduction and non-conduction. It is determined whether there is abnormality in the air-fuel ratio control system, on the basis of the sensed voltage value.

    摘要: An air/fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine having an air supply system for controlling the air/fuel ratio of mixture to be supplied to the engine, and an oxygen concentration sensing device for sensing the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine. The oxygen concentration sensing device includes a pair of solid electrolyte members operating as an oxygen pump element to which a pump current is supplied, and a sensor cell element. An open/close valve is provided in the air supply system and controlled by a duty ratio control circuit which causes the open/close valve to be opened for a calculated valve open time period in each of successive predetermined cycles in response to a result of detection of air/fuel ratio. When the calculated valve open time period exceeds a predetermined upper limit, the supply of the pump current is stopped so that the blackening phenomenon of the solid electrolyte members is avoided.
