摘要： A disc brake assembly which includes a disc rotor, a mounting member having arm portions in which a pair of grooves extending toward the axial direction of the disc rotor are provided therein, a pair of brake pads disposed to both sides of the disc rotor, at least one of the brake pads having a pair of ear portions which are outwardly projected in the rotational direction of the disc rotor and which are fitted into the grooves of the mounting member so as to be slidably supported on the mounting member, a caliper member slidably supported on the mounting member so as to be movable in an axial direction of the disc rotor and pressing each of the brake pads against faces of the disc rotor, respectively and pad clips engaged with the arm portions of the mounting member so as to cover faces of the grooves and being provided with a first elastic member which is formed on the pad clip in a body and which always outwardly urges the brake pad with a low load in the diametrical direction of the disc rotor through the ear portion and a second elastic member which is formed on the pad clip in a body and which is adjacent to the first elastic member so as to be able to receive the ear portion of the brake pad with high load, respectively. According to this improved disc brake assembly, it is able to slidably support the brake pad on the mounting member without a play in the diametrical direction of the disc rotor while preventing the generation of the dragging phenomenon.

摘要： An anti-squeal disc brake, having a disc rotor rotating with a wheel of a vehicle, a pair of friction pads each including a friction member and a backing plate secured to the friction member, an actuator device for forcing the pair of friction pads against opposite friction surfaces of the disc rotor, and a torque member which is secured to a fixed member of the vehicle and which supports the friction pads movably toward and away from the opposite friction surfaces of the rotor, the torque member receiving, through the backing plates, tangential forces which act on the friction pads during frictional contacts of the friction members with the friction surfaces of the rotor. The backing plate of each of at least one of the friction pads is formed with a force-transmitting portion which transmits to the torque member the tangential force acting on the corresponding friction pad, at a position lying in a plane which includes the corresponding one of the opposite friction surfaces of the rotor, or at a position spaced apart from the above-indicated plane in a direction toward the other friction surface of the rotor.

摘要： A brake booster of stroke-enlarging type which includes a casing, a power piston so disposed as to divide the interior of the casing into two chambers for being actuated by the difference of pressure in the two chambers, a control piston, containing therein a valve mechanism for controlling the difference of pressure in the two chambers and a transmission mechanism for transmitting an input of an input member to an output member, being coaxially fitted into a central bore of the power piston relatively movably thereto and a reaction lever, which is abutted at an output portion in the middle thereof by the output member, receiving output of the transmission mechanism and output of the power piston respectively as an input at a first input portion and a second input portion thereof located on either side of said output portion in the middle, whereby a greater stroke can be obtained at the output member than a stroke input at the input member. Between the control piston and the power piston a locking mechanism including a ball and a ball retainer is disposed. The ball retainer is for transmitting an output of the power piston to the reaction lever via the ball, through abutment on a first input portion of the reaction lever. After the ball has been locked between the power piston and the control piston a reactionary force which comes from the reaction lever back to the ball retainer is mostly transmitted from the ball to the control piston, not to the power piston. Therefore the power piston is not pushed back even after the peak of the assisting force given to the power piston by the pressure difference.

摘要： A vehicular foot-operated parking brake control apparatus is designed to achieve reliable and easy operation of the apparatus while also reducing the apparatus size and the stroke loss. The apparatus includes a mounting bracket that is adapted to be fixed to a vehicle body, and a pedal that is rotatably mounted on the bracket for rotation about a rotational axis, with the pedal being connected to a parking brake control cable. The pedal is provided with a plurality of ratchet teeth and a pawl is rotatably mounted on the bracket for rotation between a first rotational position in which the pawl is engaged with the ratchet teeth and a second rotational position in which the pawl is disengaged from the ratchet teeth. The pawl is slidably mounted on the bracket to slide between a first slide position and a second slide position. The apparatus is designed to allow the parking brake to be engaged and disengaged by pressing on the pedal.

摘要： A fluid reservoir is partitioned by a diaphragm into a liquid phase portion and a vapor phase portion with the diaphragm being moved in accordance with the liquid level in the liquid phase portion of the reservoir. An operating rod mounted to move with the diaphragm is engaged by sensing means which operate to produce a signal indicative of liquid level in response to the position of the operating rod. The operating rod may be composed partially of electrically conductive material and partially of electrically nonconductive material in order to open and close an external electrical signal circuit in accordance with its position relative to the level of liquid within the reservoir.
