A self-assembly coating material including carbon particles and polymer shells is provided. The polymer shells respectively cover and are bonded to the carbon particles, wherein each polymer shell has both a first functional group for adsorbing on a surface of a substrate and a second functional group for self cross-linking. The first functional groups include thiol groups. The second functional groups include epoxy groups or carboxylic groups. The self-assembly coating material can be applied to a metal substrate to form a heat dissipation layer.

The process includes polymerizing at least one monomer with at least one initiator and at least one organometallic RAFT reagent to obtain polymers having terminal organometallic functional groups with low polydispersity index. In addition, the terminal organometallic functional group may be removed by subjecting the obtained polymer to elimination to provide the corresponding organic polymers.

Active carbon layers are disposed on opposite inner sides of the electrode protection layers. The separator is disposed between the active carbon layers. The electrolyte fills between the electrode protection layers. The polymer shells of each electrode protection layer are bonded to the surface of the corresponding electrode by first and second functional groups. The first functional groups include thiol groups. The second functional groups include epoxy groups or carboxylic groups. The electrode protection layers serve as adhesion layers between the active carbon layers and the electrodes, and protect the electrodes from being corroded by the acid electrolyte solution.

A measuring method for equivalent circuitry is disclosed herein to characterize the interconnects using time-domain reflectometry measurement. By combining the layer peeling algorithm for transmission lines and the matrix-pencil approach for discontinuities, the technique yields a simple equivalent circuit model which consists of distributed transmission lines and networks of lumped elements. With element values being independent of frequency, the model is well suited to model nonlinear broadband circuit simulation for electrical performance of the interconnects.
