    摘要: A silicone composition comprising (A) 100 parts by weight of a polydiorganosiloxane containing an average of at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule; (B) 75 to 150 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane resin having a number-average molecular weight of from 2,000 to 5,000 and consisting essentially of R.sup.3.sub.2 R.sup.4 SiO.sub.1/2 units and SiO.sub.4/2 units wherein each R.sup.3 is independently selected from the group consisting of monovalent hydrocarbon and monovalent halogenated hydrocarbon groups free of aliphatic unsaturation, R.sup.4 is selected from the group consisting of R.sup.3 and alkenyl, the mole ratio of R.sup.3.sub.2 R.sup.4 SiO.sub.1/2 units to SiO.sub.4/2 units is from 0.6:1 to 1.1:1, and the resin contains an average of from 2.5 to 7.5 mole percent of alkenyl groups; (C) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having an average of at least three silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule in an amount sufficient to provide from one to three silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per alkenyl group in components (A) and (B) combined; (D) an adhesion promoter in an amount sufficient to effect adhesion of the composition to a substrate; and (E) a hydrosilylation catalyst in an amount sufficient to cure the composition.

    摘要: Solventless silicone resins, which exhibit a high degree of reconstitution, are produced in forms such as powders and flakes. The degree of reconstitution is judged by the fact that silicone resin/fluid alloys produced therefrom exhibit only a minor shift in T.sub.g, the glass transition temperature, in comparison to analogous alloys produced from solvent dispersed (virgin) resin. Resin, and preferably virgin resin, is dispersed in a volatile liquid dispersant and blended with a nonvolatile silicone fluid. Thereafter, the volatile liquid dispersant is removed by means such as spray-drying or evaporation, resulting in the solventless resin forms of the invention.

    摘要: A radiation or thermal curable coating composition contains a cycloaliphatic epoxide resin, a carbinol functional silicone resin or an anhydride functional silicone resin, and a thermal or photoactivated acid catalyst. An organic polyol may also be included in the composition as an optional component. The composition is useful as a radiation curable coating, as an adhesive, a photodefinable coating, or as a thermal cure coating. The cycloaliphatic epoxide resin adds toughness and adhesion to the composition, whereas either of the carbinol functional silicone resin or the anhydride functional silicone resin provides the composition with water resistance, weatherability, thermal stability, and flexibility.

    摘要: A planar optical waveguide assembly prepared by a method comprising the steps of (i) applying a curable polymer composition to a surface of a substrate to form a polymer film; (ii) curing the polymer film to form a lower clad layer; (iii) applying a silicone composition to the lower clad layer to form a silicone film; (iv) exposing at least one selected region of the silicone film to radiation having a wavelength of from 150 to 800 nm to produce a partially exposed film having at least one exposed region and at least one non-exposed region; (v) removing the non-exposed region of the partially exposed film with a developing solvent to form a patterned film; and (vi) heating the patterned film for an amount of time sufficient to form at least one silicone core having a refractive index of from 1.3 to 1.7 at 23° C. for light having a wavelength of 589 nm; wherein the lower clad layer has a refractive index less than the refractive index of the silicone core.
