摘要:
This document provides diuretic and natriuretic polypeptides. For example, this document provides polypeptides having diuretic and/or natriuretic activities. In some cases, a polypeptide provided herein can have diuretic and natriuretic activities, while lacking the ability to lower blood pressure. This document also provides methods and materials for inducing diuretic and/or natriuretic activities within a mammal.
摘要:
This document provides methods and materials that can be used to reduce or prevent contrast agent-induced toxicity. For example, devices for capturing contrast agents from blood are provided.

Medical devices with surfaces on which viable biologic cells are magnetically attracted and retained are disclosed along with methods of magnetic coating. The medical devices can be located in a carrier liquid containing high concentrations of magnetic cells before or after implantation. The carrier liquid with magnetic cells may be contact with the medical device in vitro or in vivo. In either case, the carrier liquid may have a concentration of magnetic cells that is high enough to facilitate coating of the medical device within an acceptable period of time, e.g., several hours or less. Magnetization of medical devices before, during, and/or after implantation and apparatus for performing the same are disclosed. Degaussing of magnetic medical devices is also disclosed.
摘要:
Medical devices, such as endoprostheses, and methods of making the devices are disclosed. The endoprostheses comprise a tubular member capable of maintaining patency of a bodily vessel. The tubular member includes a duplex stainless steel (e.g., 2205 stainless steel), which may be magnetized.
摘要:
Methods and materials for diagnosing and treating heart conditions (e.g., heart failure) and kidney conditions (e.g., kidney failure) are described.
摘要:
This document relates to methods and materials for treating diseases or disorders associated with elevated platelet counts (e.g., essential thrombocythemia, secondary thrombocytosis, congenital amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia, sepsis, or asplenism) as well as methods and materials for treating diseases or disorders associated with elevated platelet adhesion to collagen (e.g., acute coronary syndromes, angina pectoris, chronic atherosclerosis, diabetes, or hypertension).

This document relates to molecularly imprinted polymers for use in mammals. For example, methods and materials for capturing a molecule in the body of a mammal using a molecularly imprinted polymer are provided. In some cases methods for delivering a molecule using a molecularly imprinted polymer into the body of a mammal are provided. The methods provided can be used to target any molecule in the body of a mammal.
摘要:
Systems and methods that provide magnetically-enhanced delivery of therapeutic agents to selected tissue are disclosed. The systems and methods involve the use of carrier devices and release devices and two different magnetic fields to move magnetic particles into selected tissue. Movement of the magnetic particles (and any associated therapeutic agent) into the tissue may be assisted by both magnetic attractive forces as well as magnetic repulsive forces.
