    摘要: A portable computer having a partially sealed cooling system is disclosed. The portable computer contains heat transfer materials that function to remove heat from a sealed area of the portable computer to an unsealed area where the heat may be more effectively dissipated. A portable computer having a power source shield is also disclosed. The shield may be formed to partially surround a portion of the power source, and may be formed by partially enclosing a power source in a conductive material; forming an opening in the conductive material on one side of the power source; installing the power source near an edge of the electronic device; and orienting the power source so that the opening faces the edge of the electronic device.

    摘要: An apparatus for suppressing noise in an electronic device includes a multiple layer structure in which localized arrays of chip capacitors and/or patches around sources of electromagnetic waves are used. The PCB includes multiple conductive layers at different potentials, dielectric layers separating the conductive layers, conductive rods extending between at least two of the conductive layers, and a layer of patches disposed adjacent or on one or more of the conductive layers. The conductive rods are connected to one of the conductive layers and chip capacitors connect the conductive rods to another of the conductive layers. A particular location can be effectively isolated from noise using a few unit cells of an array of patches/capacitors partially or completely surrounding the particular location.

    摘要: The present invention provides a docking station (501) for a tablet computer (339) with or without an extended battery (301). This docking station (501) comprises a docking assembly for positioning with three degrees of freedom and having a data connector for mechanically supporting and interfacing with the tablet computer (339). A support member (505) couples the cradle (507) assembly to an expansion base (503). The base (503) includes a number of ports (54, 56, 60, 62) for interfacing with a variety of peripheral devices or power supplies. These varieties of ports mount to a printed circuit board contained within the expansion base (503). A flexible printed circuit (FPC) (64) combines the signal pathways for the variety of ports, allowing the signal pathways to travel from the printed circuit board (64) and to the data connector (519). The docking station (501) can support the tablet computer (339) in any orientation from landscape to portrait and can simultaneously charge both the tablets main battery (347) and the extended battery (301) while cradled in the docking station (501).
