    摘要: A turbomachine system and method, with the system including a slug detector coupled to a main line to detect a slug flow in a multiphase fluid in the main line. The system also includes a compressor fluidly coupled to the main line and disposed downstream of the slug detector, and a bypass line fluidly coupled to the main line upstream of the compressor and downstream of the compressor. The system further includes at least an upstream control valve fluidly coupled to the main line upstream of the compressor and communicably coupled to the slug detector. The upstream control valve is configured to actuate between a normal position, in which the upstream control valve directs fluid to the compressor, and a bypass position, in which the upstream control valve directs fluid to the bypass line, according to when the slug detector detects a slug flow.

The motor may drive both the compressor and a blower configured to circulate a cooling gas throughout the housing and thereby cool the motor and accompanying radial bearings. The cooling gas may be cooled in a gas-to-gas heat exchanger fluidly coupled to the blower and configured to receive a flow of process gas to cool the cooling gas. The process gas may be the suction process gas for the compressor, or the compressed process gas as discharged from the compressor.

    摘要: A rotating machine has a barrel casing and at least one component carrier disposed therein. The component carrier is aligned and supported within the barrel casing using a plurality of carrier alignment fixtures which have alignment shafts that extend through the barrel casing to the component carrier. Each alignment shaft has an eccentric key pin extending from a distal end thereof and an alignment key rotatably-mounted to each eccentric key pin. The alignment keys mate with corresponding keyway slots defined on the component carrier such that when the carrier alignment fixtures are rotated axially, the corresponding alignment keys bias against the keyway slot and shift the position of the component carrier.

    摘要: An expander-generator is disclosed having an expansion device and a generator disposed within a hermetically-sealed housing. The expansion device may be overhung and supported on or otherwise rotate a hollow expansion rotor having a thrust balance seal being arranged at least partially within a chamber defined in the expansion rotor. Partially-expanded working fluid is extracted from an intermediate expansion stage and a first portion of the extracted working fluid is used cool the generator and accompanying radial bearings. A second portion of the extracted working fluid may be introduced into the chamber defined within the expander rotor via a conduit defined in the thrust balance seal chamber. The second portion of extracted working fluid minimizes unequal axial thrust loads on the expander rotor due to the overhung arrangement.

An expansion device is coupled to the condensers at a drive end and suspended from the recuperators at a non-drive end. The recuperators can be printed circuit heat exchangers which provide superior heat transfer capabilities but are also robust enough to support the expansion device, and thereby form an integral part of a structural baseplate for mounting and aligning various components of the heat engine system. Exhaust conduits extending between the expansion device and the recuperators also provide added structural support for the expansion device.

Each vane has a first channeling surface facing toward the body inlet and a second channeling surface facing away from the inlet.
