    摘要： Recombinant hosts for producing polyhydroxyalkanoates and methods of producing polyhydroxyalkanoates from renewable carbon substrates are provided. Certain recombinant hosts that produce 5 carbon chemicals such as 5-aminopentanoate (5AP), 5-hydroxyvalerate (5HV), glutarate, and 1,5 pentanediol (PDO) are also provided. One embodiment provides a recombinant host expressing a gene encoding a heterologous enzyme selected from the group consisting of a polyhydroxyalkanoate synthase and a 5-hydroxyvalerate-CoA (5HV-CoA) transferase, wherein the host produces a polymer containing 5-hydroxyvalerate. Preferably, the host expresses both a polyhydroxyalkanoate synthase and a 5HV-CoA transferase. The host can be prokaryotic or eukaryotic. A preferred prokaryotic host is E. coli. The polymers produced by the recombinant hosts can be homopolymers or copolymers of 5-hydroxyvalerate. A preferred copolymer is poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-5-hydroxyvalerate).

    摘要： An ornament has a frame. There is a central fixed disc attached to the frame and a picture of the central fixed disc. An annulus surrounds the central fixed disc and is rotatably mounted in the frame. A magnet is positioned in the annulus. Weighted figures are mounted on the rotatable annulus. The figures bear a relationship to the picture on the central fixed disc. A magnet can rotate the annulus by magnetic effect on the magnet in the annulus so that the weighted figures rise and fall as the annulus rotates to change the displayed scene.

    摘要： A hollow body encloses a spherical weight which rolls around the inner surface of the body as the body itself is rotated over a playing field. The inner surface of the body has magnetic inserts and the spherical weight is fitted with internal magnets having pole pieces which are flush with the surface of the weight. As the hollow body is rolled, the magnetic elements occasionally come into contact with one another to momentarily secure the weight to the inner surface and thereby alter the rolling characteristics of the body.
