摘要: In accordance with the invention, there are image forming apparatuses, fusing subsystems, and methods of making a member of the fusing subsystems. The method of making a member of a fusing subsystem can include providing a fuser member, the fuser member including a substrate and providing a dispersion including a plurality of carbon nanotubes, a stabilizer, a hydrophobic polymer, and a solvent, wherein the plurality of carbon nanotubes is selected from the group consisting of single wall carbon nanotubes and multiple wall carbon nanotubes. The method can also include applying the dispersion over the substrate to form a coated substrate and heating the coated substrate to form a hydrophobic composite coating such that a top surface of the fuser member has a water contact angle of at least about 120°.

摘要: A novel composition for use as a print head face plate coating. In particular, the coating comprises siloxyfluorocarbon (SFC), which is composed of networked precursors containing reactive siloxane groups attached to fluorocarbon chains. The present SFC coatings can be used to produce a surface whereby solid ink and ultraviolet (UV) curable inks do not adhere when applied at elevated temperatures and over an extended period of time. The advantages of the present coating are fewer print head related defects, and longer front face life.

摘要: Disclosed herein are solvent free, dry coating processes for applying a layered material such as graphene, nanoplate graphite, etc., to a substrate. The applied layered material is devoid of any dispersant and substantially uniform in thickness. Generally, a layered material precursor composition is mixed with a milling medium so that the milling medium is coated with the layered material. The substrate is then contacted with the coated milling medium. The layered material on the milling medium transfers to the substrate to form a coating on the substrate. Such processes may be especially useful for applying conductive films onto a polymeric substrate without the need for additives such as a surfactant or a polymeric binder.

摘要: The presently disclosed embodiments relate generally to an image forming apparatus comprising a delivery member in contact with either the surface of an imaging member or in contact with the surface of the bias charge roller, wherein the delivery member is fabricated as a polymer matrix impregnated with functional materials, such that the functional material is transferred onto the imaging member or bias charge roller from the delivery member. Embodiments also pertain to an improved electrophotographic imaging member comprising a very thin outer layer on the imaging member surface, where the outer layer comprises functional materials, such as paraffin, that act as a lubricant and/or a barrier against moisture and/or surface contaminants. The improved imaging member exhibits improved xerographic performance, such as reduced torque, reduced friction, and deletions in high humidity conditions.
