    摘要: Examples of a flexible pyrolysis system are provided that include at least one reaction chamber capable of pyrolyzing a combination of coal in a supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2) atmosphere. The system includes a recuperating and condensing circuit that removes dissolved pyrolysis products from the supercritical CO2 atmosphere and then recovers CO2 for reuse in the reaction chamber. The recuperating and condensing circuit includes multiple stages of recuperators and collectors that can be independently controlled in order to selectively fractionate the pyrolysis products. In addition, the pyrolysis reaction may be controlled to alter the pyrolysis products generated.

    摘要: A gas phase adsorption process in which a gas phase containing water vapor or a basic gas is brought into contact with activated carbon fiber to adsorb the water vapor or basic gas. The activated carbon fiber comprises pitch-based oxidized activated carbon fiber having oxygen-containing functional groups and an oxygen content of 3-18% by weight, based on the weight of the fiber. The oxidized activated carbon fiber is prepared by oxidizing pitch-based activated carbon fiber having a specific surface area of 200-2500 m.sup.2 /g.

    摘要: A process for preparing mesophase pitch based carbon fibers is disclosed, wherein mesophase pitch fibers are gas-phase nitrated in an atmosphere of an oxygen-containing gas such as air or an inert gas such as nitrogen containing 0.1 to 50% by volume of NO.sub.2 at a low temperature of not higher than 100.degree. C. for a long period of time. The carbon fibers thus obtained are excellent in both mechanical strength and elastic modulus and have well-balanced physical properties.
