Abstract:
A polypeptide possessing an action of causing chromatin condensation; a sense nucleic acid encoding the polypeptide; an antisense nucleic acid thereof, a probe or primer capable of specifically binding to the nucleic acid; an antibody or a fragment thereof against the polypeptide; an agent for controlling apoptosis, comprising the nucleic acid, the polypeptide, or the antibody or a fragment thereof; a screening method for a substance for controlling chromatin condensation, comprising evaluating an activity of causing chromatin condensation exhibited by the polypeptide; and a substance for controlling chromatin condensation. The present invention is useful for screening a substance controlling apoptosis, its use for controlling apoptosis and its applications to various diseases accompanying apoptosis.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for evaluating a substance capable of affecting endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced apoptosis and/or amyloid-β-induced apoptosis, a kit for evaluating the substance and a pharmaceutical composition.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a flame-retardant resin composition having high flame retardancy, and a flame-retardant resin film having high thickness precision and excellent flame retardancy and a solar battery back sheet. The flame-retardant resin film according to the present invention is a flame-retardant resin film obtained from a resin composition, wherein the resin composition comprises a polyphenylene ether resin (a), a phosphorus flame retardant (b), and a fluorine-containing resin (c); in the resin composition, the content of the component (a) is 75 to 98 parts by mass and the content of the component (b) is 25 to 2 parts by mass, based on 100 parts by mass of the components (a) and (b) in total; the content of a fluorine element in the resin composition is 100 to 1000 mass ppm; and the flame-retardant resin film has a thickness of 20 to 500 μm.
Abstract:
There is provided a thermoplastic elastomer composition having excellent flexibility, mechanical properties, scratch resistance, abrasion resistance, and low-temperature characteristics. A crosslinked thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising 5 to 70 parts by mass of (C) a hydrogenated product of a block copolymer having at least one conjugated diene monomer unit block and at least one vinyl aromatic monomer unit block, and 20 to 150 parts by mass of (D) an olefin-based resin, based on 100 parts by mass of the total of (A) an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer comprising an ethylene unit and an α-olefin unit having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, and (B) a copolymer having at least one hydrogenated copolymer block mainly composed of a conjugated diene monomer unit and a vinyl aromatic monomer unit, wherein a mass ratio ((A)/(B)) of the (A) component and the (B) component is from 20/80 to 75/25.

Abstract:
A method of readily detecting or differentiating rheumatoid arthritis, which has so far been diagnosed in a comprehensive manner based on various tests and clinical symptoms, and a method of readily and objectively estimating the stage of disease and the degree of dysfunction with regard to rheumatoid arthritis are provided. The detection and differentiation of rheumatoid arthritis are performed by measuring the levels of L-PGDS in a sample such as a body fluid such that the measurement value is used as an index. Further, the stage of disease or the degree of dysfunction of a rheumatoid arthritis patient is determined using the measurement value as an index.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for detecting or predicting ischemic disorders in a subject by using as an indication the concentration of human lipocalin-type prostaglandin D synthase (hPGDS) in body fluid samples from the subject. More specifically, the method comprises comparing the hPGDS concentrations in the body fluid samples from a subject with the reference values established for a normal subject, thereby detecting or predicting the ischemic disorders.
