    Abstract: A vehicle may have optical structures such as windows and mirrors that have the potential to allow glare from external objects to shine into the eyes of a driver or other vehicle occupant. A control circuit may gather information on where the eyes of the driver are located using a camera mounted in the vehicle and may gather information on where the sun or other source of glare are located outside of the vehicle. Based on this information, the control circuit may direct a light modulator on a window or mirror to selectively darken an area that prevents the glare from reaching the eyes of the driver. The light modulator may have a photochromic layer that is adjusted by shining light onto the photochromic layer, may be a liquid crystal modulator, an electrochromic modulator, or other light modulator layer.

    Abstract: A display may include one or more display pixels in an array of pixels. A display pixel may include a storage capacitor chat stores a pixel data signal. The storage capacitor may be formed from a pixel electrode structure, a capacitor electrode structure, and a common electrode structure that is interposed between the pixel electrode structure and capacitor electrode structures. Each electrode structure may be formed from transparent conductive materials deposited on respective display layers. The pixel electrode structure and capacitor electrode structure may be electrically coupled by a conductive via structure that extends through the display layers without contacting the common electrode structure. The conductive via structure may contact underlying transistor structures such as a source-drain structure.

    Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to electronic devices with displays. The display includes an array of display pixels and one or more display-light sensors that monitor the display light generated by the display pixels. Using the display-light sensors, corrections to control signals for the display pixels can be provided to correct for array non-uniformities and/or pixel degradation over time. The display-light sensors may be provided in an array of display-light sensors mounted parallel to the array of display pixels. The array of display-light sensors can be in-plane with the display pixels or vertically displaced from the display pixels. The display-light sensors may be prevented from receiving non-display light such as ambient light.

    Abstract: Touch sensor panels typically include a plurality of layers that can be stacked on top of each other. When the touch sensor panel is used in a bright environment, incident light can hit the interfaces between those layers of the stackup having mismatched refractive indices and can reflect off those interfaces. The light reflected from those interfaces can give rise to the appearance of fringes on the touch sensor panel, which can be visually distracting. In order to reduce the appearance of these fringes, embodiments of the disclosure are directed to the addition of an index matching passivation layer between a conductive layer of traces and an adhesive layer in the touch sensor panel stackup.
