摘要: A certain viscosity index (VI) improving additive may be used to increase the viscosity of an autoamotive fuel composition, by an amount greater than that which theory would have predicted to occur to improve the acceleration performance of an internal combustion engine into which the fuel composition is introduced. The fuel composition is suitably a diesel fuel composition, and the additive suitably comprises a block copolymer which contains one or more monomer blocks selected from ethylene, propylene, butylene, butadiene, isoprene and styrene monomers. The additive is preferably used in the composition at a concentration of 0.5 % w/w or lower.

摘要: The Conventional Direct Glazing invention concerns a process for securing fixed panes of inorganic or organic glass to vehicles or parts thereof, in which flexible structural components and or sealing strips are prefitted by a weld strip between them and the pane by thermally activating the weld strip and thus producing a seaming effect on the pane, and pane modules thus produced. A pane module thus produced can subsequently be conventionally fitted to the coachwork on the assembly line using fitting strings without any further auxiliaries and working process. Owing to the material used for the flexible structural component and or sealing strip, the sealing quality corresponds to that of direct glazing. If the residual heat from the manufacture of the pane is used as the activation heat for the sealing strip, considerable economies are achieved in the manufacturing process for the pane module.

摘要: An adjustment mechanism to adjust a telescope sighting system comprises an adjusting muff rotatably supported on a connector part to drive the adjustment mechanism. The connector part is designed to transmit the motion of the adjusting muff to its connected components in order to adjust them. A first interlocking component is linked to the adjusting muff and fitted with first lock elements to constitute a first click array. A display means indicates the excursion of rotation of the adjusting muff, and a switch actuates the displays following a predetermined rotational excursion of the adjusting muff. A second interlocking component linked to the adjusting muff is provided with a second click array—different from the first click array—constituted by second lock components.

摘要: A method for effecting a rapid, comprehensive release of cellular contents, including nucleotides and associated molecules of interest from living cells, using a novel family of quaternary ammonium compounds. Modification of the alkyl chain length of these compounds can enable selective release from different classes of living cells, allowing them to be rapidly distinguished from each other.

摘要: The invention relates to a measuring device for measurement of the volumetric flow of liquids, in particular for the measurement of dewatering rates from paper machines, having a container for receiving a liquid whose volumetric flow is to be measured, whereby the container has a bottom on which the liquid collects, and having an inlet for the liquid and an outlet for the liquid, whereby inserted in the outlet is a measuring aperture which has an opening for the outflow of liquid from the container. The measuring aperture opening extends upward in a vertical direction in the container, starting at an overflow level at a defined distance above the container bottom. Also, the measuring device has a pressure sensor which is arranged in or on the container, at least partly below the measuring aperture opening, in order to measure the static pressure in a liquid column collecting in the container as the result of the inflowing liquid. The measuring device of the invention including a lower region of the measuring aperture opening that can be closed in order to raise the overflow level by a defined extent for checking the calibration of the measuring device.
