    摘要： Described is a method for controlling a temperature downstream of a catalyst in the exhaust tract of an internal combustion engine including a first control loop in which a first control variable is calculated from a first deviation that is calculated from a first actual value and a first setpoint value and influences an intra-engine heat generation. In the process, the first actual value is determined as a measure of a temperature downstream of the catalyst. The method features a second control loop in which at least one second control variable is calculated from a second deviation that is calculated from a second actual value and a second setpoint value; a temperature upstream of the catalyst being determined as the second actual value. Also described is a controller which controls the sequence of such a method.

The second operating phase may be started both as a function of the operating state of the component part and/or as a function of the operating state of the internal combustion engine, and also by an external start signal. If there is an external start signal present, the second operating phase is preferably only started if, at the same time, at least one additional conditions is satisfied. The external start signal is made available, for instance, by a diagnostic unit which is connected via a diagnosis interface.

    摘要： A method for operating an exhaust gas treatment device of an internal combustion engine in which a change in the operating mode of the internal combustion engine is made as a function of a parameter. A timer is started in response to an operative mode change request. During the time period set by the timer, the system continuously decides, based on evaluation of at least one parameter, whether the change in operating mode can be made. If this is the case, the operative mode change is made immediately. If this is not the case, the operative mode change is made no later than when the time period set by the timer has expired. The method ensures that a driver of a motor vehicle in which the internal combustion engine is provided for propulsion will not notice a torque jump of the internal combustion engine, possibly occurring during an operative mode change.

Suitable measures are initiated for the case when the odometer reading found on restarting the engine and the stored odometer reading do not match.
