摘要: In a memory drive system of a DC type of plasma display panel, scan signals are applied to scan electrodes connected to the DC type of plasma display panel, with the scan signals each comprising a priming scan pulse for generating the priming discharge, a write scan pulse for generating the write discharge, and a sustain pulse train for generating the sustain discharge. The priming scan pulse, the write scan pulse and the sustain pulse train are sequentially shifted on a time basis for each scan signal. To each of the data electrodes connected to the DC type of plasma display panel, a data signal is applied in which, only when the write discharge is not to be generated, is a non-write pulse formed, which offers a turn-off level during an applying period of time for the write scan pulse, and which maintains a turn-on level when the write discharge is to be generated and during other periods of time except the applying period of time for the write scan pulse.

摘要: A method of memory-driving a DC gaseous discharge panel and circuitry therefor are disclosed. To generate a write discharge on a desired display cell, while a scan pulse Pscn having a pulse width of .tau.scn is applied to a cathode associated with the cell, a display anode is held in its high level or ON level. To prevent the write discharge from being formed, while the scan pulse Pscn is applied to the cathode, a non-write pulse Pnw having a pulse width of .tau.nw is applied to the display anode. The pulse width .tau.nw is selected such that the duration of the pulse Pnw (.tau.scn-.tau.nw) is shorter than the statistic time lag of the start of a discharge at which a discharge cell generating a write discharge first appears. For a sustain discharge following the write discharge, sustain pulses Psus are applied to the cathode after the scan pulse Pscn for a predetermined period of time such that they do not coincide with the non-write pulses as to the timing. As a result, stable discharge and therefore high quality display is insured even when the scanning period must be reduced in order to, e.g., enlarge a screen.

摘要: In a memory drive scheme of a plasma display panel, scan pulses are sequentially applied to scan electrodes and a train of sustain pulses is applied subsequent to the scan pulses to each of the scan electrodes during a certain period of time. A non-write pulse, which offers a turn-off level only when display information directed to the display cells is of a non-display is applied to the display electrodes in synchronism with the scan pulses. A write discharge is initiated for the display cells when the display cells are brought into a display state by applying the scan pulses to the scan electrodes and maintaining the scan electrodes in a turn-on level. The display is sustained in response to the sustain pulse train applied to the scan electrode following the scan pulse and dependent on the turn-on level of the display electrode.

摘要: An object is to realize optical signal transmitter-receiver module with high transmitting power and high receiving sensitivity at a low cost. The optical signal transmitter-receiver module 60 includes a planar lightwave circuit (PLC) 61 and a transmitter-receiver circuit. The PLC 61 is made up with a Si substrate 62, a laser diode (LD) 6 generating the optical signal Pt, and a photodiode (PD)7 receiving the optical signal Pr. Both LD 6 and PD 7 are arranged on the Si substrate 62. The LD6 is arranged such that its front face is located in the vicinity of an optical fiber 64. The LD 6 has an optical waveguide layer that is composed of an active layer generating the optical signal Pt and a clad layer functioning as a transparent layer to the optical signal Pr. The PD 7 is arranged such that its front face is located in the vicinity of the backside face of the LD 6 and receives the optical signal Pr having passed through the optical waveguide layer of the LD 6.

摘要: When conveying an envelope, a posture of the envelope is corrected by hitting a closed portion of the envelope, which is opposite side of an opened portion of the envelope, against a nip portion between upper and lower rollers of the pre-registration rollers and the envelope is then conveyed with the envelope being nipped by the upper and lower rollers of the pre-registration rollers. The upper and lower rollers of the pre-registration rollers nip the envelope to remove air from the envelope. When setting an envelope mode to control a conveying speed of the envelope based on a coverage rate of an image to be formed on the envelope, the conveying speed of the envelope is controlled by adjusting a rotation speed of the registration rollers based on the coverage rate of the set envelope mode.
