    摘要: A control circuit changes the ratio of an illumination period to a non-illumination period in a frame period of a backlight according to a gradation level in the one frame period of an image displayed on a liquid crystal panel in such a manner that the higher the gradation level, the backlight illumination control circuit increases the ratio of the illumination period to the non-illumination period in the frame period of the backlight, and the lower the gradation level, the backlight illumination control circuit decreases the ratio of the illumination period to the non-illumination period in the frame period of the backlight and thereby controls illumination intensity toward the liquid crystal panel. A time center of illumination intensity in each one frame period of the backlight is controlled in order that the time center exists in a constant temporal position from the beginning of each frame period.

    摘要: An image transmission means for employment in a photocopying machine wherein a document to be copied is scanned and image-wise light reflected therefrom is directed onto a photosensitive medium which is moved at a speed equal or proportional to the document scanning speed. The image transmission means comprises an image-transmitting light-conducting fiber array which transmits image light reflected from a document onto a photosensitive medium, and is so mounted that photosensitive medium portions which are less exposed due to characteristic variation in light transmission efficiency of different portions of the fiber array are disposed longitudinally with respect to the document image. Illumination of a document is provided by one or two tubular alternating current fluorescent lamps which are actuated to provide illumination which varies at a frequency and to a proportion that are selected with reference to the characteristic variations of different portions of the light-conducting fiber array. On the photosensitive medium, and hence on a subsequently produced document copy, variations due to alternation of document illumination occur transversely with respect to the image of the scanned document; that is at right-angles to the variations due to light-conducting fiber array characteristics. There is thus produced an image constituted by mesh portions.

    摘要: A backlight device includes a light diffusing member above a plurality of light sources that are partitioned into a plurality of illumination regions by a partition wall. A light incidence plane at which lights from the plurality of light sources enter is higher than the light sources and equal to or lower than a top of a partition wall. Moreover, a second light diffusing member is laminated above the light diffusing member so that a space is provided between the second light diffusing member and the first light diffusing member. The second light diffusing member has a light incidence plane in a position at a height that is higher than the top of the partition member. This makes it possible to independently control each of the illumination regions.
