Abstract:
A method and a system for determining an altitude of an object of interest, for example, an airplane that transmits electromagnetic radiation in the form of radar signals. A number of sub-units that can detect the radar signals are spread out in an area, preferably in a large geographical area, where the radar signals of the airplane/object it is possible to detect. The sub-units communicate to the information center when they are able to detect the radar signals. The information center determines the altitude of the airplane based on the airplanes line of sight, i.e., its radar horizon, and thus which sub-units can detect the radar signals.

The present invention relates to a use of casein derived from milks, preferably human milk, and porcine milk, for the preparation of a substrate for the prophylactic and/or therapeutic treatment of infections of the respiratory tract caused by S. pneumoniae and/or H. influenzae, as well as the diagnostic use of such compositions for diagnosing infections caused by said bacteria.
Abstract:
A procedure and a device for controlling, in a radar unit for the measurement of target data, the transmission of radar pulses and the reception of target echoes originating from the transmitted radar pulses, in such a way that the performance of the radar unit increases, in order thereby to gain a longer range during a period of time. The period of time is preferably repeated continually. The period of time is divided into a first and a second partial period of time where the first and the second partial periods of time are each at least twice as long as a pulse repetition interval which is used during the first partial period of time. During the first partial period of time the radar unit is controlled so that it transmits radar pulses for the measurement of target data with a higher energy content than what is possible in a steady state. The control is carried out in such a way that the amount of transmitted energy of the radar unit during the period of time is at the most the possible energy transmission of the radar unit in a steady state during a corresponding period of time. There is thereby obtained a more efficient signal integration by means of the signal integration of the target echoes that originate from the radar unit being concentrated during the first partial period of time. The radar unit is also controlled so that it does not transmit radar pulses for the measurement of target data during the second partial period of time.
Abstract:
A composite material comprises a web shaped material which is impregnated with a curable resin and which contains thermoplastic particles distributed in the web shaped material. The thermoplastic particles are of an expandable type but occur in the composite material in substantially unexpanded form. The curable resin is in a A- or B-stage. In addition, the invention comprises use of a composite material of this nature for producing laminates by warm pressing and expanding the thermoplastic particles and a method for producing the composite material.
Abstract:
A packaging container comprises a first portion formed of a first material or material combination mainly consisting of plastic, a second portion formed of a second material or material combination mainly consisting of a fiber based packaging laminate, and a pouring opening formed in the first portion. The second portion is provided with an arrangement for separating the entire first portion from the second portion.

A method for the production of a cellular allogeneic vaccine, which is based upon an allogeneic APC, includes the following steps: a) isolation of an APC from a subject or providing an APC already established and/or isolated from a myeloid leukemia cell line, and b) modifying the APC with an antigen using any of the following methods: pulsing, transfection, infection or fusion; c) treatment using an agent capable of removing sialic acid on cell surfaces; and optionally d) culturing the APC in a suitable medium, an allogeneic vaccine obtainable by the above method, a composition comprising the vaccine and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and therapeutic use of the vaccine or the composition.
Abstract:
A dual-stream filling system is used in a packaging machine to introduce at least two flowable materials into a plastic bottle. The dual-stream filling system defines a material flow path therethrough. The system includes a primary filling tube having an inlet end and a discharge end and defining a primary filling tube internal flow region. A secondary filling tube has an inlet end and an outlet end and defines a secondary filling tube internal flow region. The secondary filling tube is positioned at least in part within the primary filling tube internal flow region, penetrating the primary filling tube through the first opening. The dual-stream fill system includes a valve plug that includes a portion that is movable relative to the secondary filling tube between an opened state wherein flow communication is established between the internal flow regions of the primary and secondary filling tubes and a closed state wherein flow communication is terminated between the internal flow regions of the primary and secondary filling tubes. An actuator is provided for moving the valve plug portion between the opened and closed positions. The actuator is disposed fully external of the secondary filling tube flow region.
