Abstract:
Provided herein are methods, systems, and related vectors and compositions allowing for noninvasive control of neural circuits. In particular, the methods and systems herein described utilize acoustically targeted chemogenetics to achieve a noninvasive neuromodulation in specifically selected cell-types among spatially selected brain regions.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for sensing biological functions are disclosed. Sensors can be implanted in an organ, such as the brain, and a magnetic field gradient applied to the biological tissue. The field causes the sensors to have different resonant frequencies allowing their spatial localization. The sensors can harvest power from the external coils to be able to retransmit data.
Abstract:
Provided herein are genetically engineered gas vesicle expression systems (GVES) that are configured to express gas vesicles (GVs) in a mammalian cell, related gas vesicle polynucleotide constructs, gas vesicle reporting genetic circuits, vectors, genetically engineered mammalian cells, non-human mammalian hosts, compositions, methods and systems, which in several embodiments can be used together with contrast-enhanced imaging techniques to detect and report biological events in an imaging target site comprising a mammalian cell and/or organism.
Abstract:
A three dimensional magnetic sensor attached to a surgical nail is located based on an applied monotonic magnetic field gradient. Another three dimensional magnetic sensor locates a surgical drill. A display generates a real time image of the relative alignment of the surgical drill and of the surgical nail, allowing a surgeon to repair bone fractures.
Abstract:
Gas vesicles, protein variants and related compositions methods and systems for singleplexed and/or multiplexed ultrasound imaging of a target site in which a gas vesicle provides contrast for the imaging which is modifiable by application of a selectable acoustic collapse pressure value of the gas vesicle.
Abstract:
Provided herein are engineered protease sensitive gas vesicles and related engineered protease genetically GvpC constructs, vectors, gas vesicles gene clusters, genetic circuits, cells, compositions, methods and systems, which in several embodiments can be used together with contrast-enhanced imaging technique, to detect and report protease activity and related biological events in an imaging target site.
Abstract:
Provided herein are thermomer monomer, thermomer dimers, thermomer monomeric constructs, thermomer dimeric complexes, and related gene expression cassette vectors, cells, surfaces devices, compositions methods and systems, that provide a thermobioswitch suitable to control location and/or binding of cargo moiety of interest in a temperature regulated manner.
Abstract:
The application of a step function increase in acoustic pressure during ultrasound imaging using gas vesicle contrast, along with capturing successive frames of ultrasound imaging and extracting time-series vectors for pixels of the frames, allows for improved imaging down to even the cell level. Template vectors can be used to implement signal separation of the time-series vectors to improve detection.
