    摘要: The movement of magnetically responsive nanoparticles through a membrane is significantly enhanced by varying the direction of the magnetic field gradient at the membrane. A device for generating the varying-gradient magnetic field includes a primary magnet having a primary magnetic field gradient direction, one or more secondary magnets directed at an acute angle relative to the primary magnetic field gradient direction, and a controller connected to at least the secondary magnets. The controller is operable to repetitively vary the direction of the resultant magnetic field gradient in a pulsating manner.

    摘要: A system and method for affecting the function of a mammalian ear. The system and method uses an oscillating magnetic field to move nanospheres comprised of single-domain nanoparticles. In a preferred embodiment a receiving assembly detects sound waves and transmits the sound waves to a processor. The processor drives an electromagnetic coil in response to the detected sound waves. The electromagnetic coil transmits a signal that causes vibration of the nanoparticles and the tissues within which the nanoparticles are implanted.

The hardener is a linear alkali metal polyphosphate, ammonium polyphosphate, a source of polyvalent cations, potassium olivine phosphate and other metal silico-phosphates or aluminum dihydrogen phosphate or mixtures thereof. A process for manufacturing molds and cores from a mixture of said binder and hardener and foundry aggregate.

    摘要: The present invention provides modified particulate metal oxides having desired properties and methods of producing the metal oxides. The methods basically comprise the steps of reacting a particulate metal oxide in an aqueous solution or emulsion containing ceric ion to produce hydroxyl free radicals on the surfaces of the metal oxide and then reacting the metal oxide with a polymerizable vinyl monomer to graft the monomer to the metal oxide and polymerize the monomer. The graft polymerized metal oxide compositions produced have improved properties such as compatibility and ease of mixing with water based, oil based and plastics formulations.
