Abstract:
An apparatus includes an input module structured to interpret a fuel pressure command indicative of a target fuel pressure within an accumulator and a target fuel injection characteristic, a pump module structured to control a pump assembly to provide fuel to the accumulator to maintain the target fuel pressure within the accumulator, an injector module structured to control a plurality of fuel injectors to inject fuel into an engine based on the target fuel injection characteristic, a pressure module structured to interpret pressure data regarding an actual fuel pressure within the accumulator and to determine a pressure difference between the target fuel pressure and the actual fuel pressure, and a modulation module structured to determine a final fuel injection command responsive to the pressure difference exceeding a first magnitude threshold where the final fuel injection command is based on the pressure difference and the target fuel injection characteristic.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides an electrical system for an electrical vehicle, comprising: at least one electrical component; a cooling loop including a low-conductivity coolant coupled to each of the at least one electrical component; and at least one filter in the cooling loop. The cooling loop is configured to flow or circulate the low-conductivity coolant through each of the at least one battery and/or electrical component and the at least one filter includes a polisher material.
Abstract:
Computer-implemented technology for identifying or determining potentially damaged batteries in an electrical machine system, and for discharging the potentially damaged batteries. Embodiments include determining potentially damaged batteries by monitoring and determining information representative of one or more electrical or mechanical or thermal conditions of the batteries. The conditions may include isolation faults internal to the batteries, isolation faults external to the batteries, liquid or other contamination of the batteries, and other parameters such as out-of-specification temperatures, pressures, voltages and current levels of the batteries. Embodiments include determining whether to discharge potentially damaged batteries based on one or more of the electrical or mechanical or thermal conditions of the damaged batteries. For example, the computer-implemented technology may determine to not discharge a potentially damaged battery if parameters of the battery indicate that possible hazards or risks may be present based on certain parameters of the battery.
Abstract:
An apparatus includes a dosing module structured to suspend dosing in an exhaust aftertreatment system; a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) inlet NOx module structured to interpret SCR inlet NOx data and an SCR inlet temperature; a SCR outlet NOx module structured to interpret SCR outlet NOx data; and a system diagnostic module structured to determine an efficiency of a SCR system based on the SCR inlet and outlet NOx data over a range of SCR temperatures, wherein the system diagnostic module is further structured to determine a state of at least one of a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), a diesel particulate filter (DPF), and the SCR system based on the SCR efficiency at an elevated SCR temperature range and the SCR efficiency at a relatively lower SCR temperature range relative to a high SCR efficiency threshold and a low SCR efficiency threshold.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides cab heater systems for electric vehicles. The first system includes a combustion chamber having a combustor inlet, a combustor outlet, and a hydrogen storage fluidly coupled to the combustor inlet configured to supply hydrogen to the combustor for combustion. The second system includes a fluid circulation pump, one or more cabin heat exchangers, a heat transfer tube fluidly connected to the fluid circulation pump and to the one or more cabin heat exchangers, and an insulated tank. The insulated tank includes a tank heat exchanger fluidly connected to the heat transfer tube, a resistance heater, and a phase change material. In the charging mode, the resistance heater provides heat to the phase change material and to the tank heat exchanger, while in the heating mode, the fluid circulation pump provides heat to the tank heat exchanger and to the one or more cabin heat exchangers.
