    Abstract: A battery includes a battery element, housing body, and valve device. The housing body has a laminate including a base material, barrier, and heat-sealable resin layers. The valve device is in communication with the housing body inside. A joined edge portion in which the mutually facing heat-sealable resin layers are fused together is formed in a housing body peripheral edge portion. The valve device includes first and second portions. A valve mechanism reduces the housing body internal pressure if it is increased due to gas generated in the housing body is formed in the first portion. An air passage guides gas generated in the housing body toward the valve mechanism is formed in the second portion. The first portion is located on a joined edge portion edge outer side. At least a portion of the second portion is sandwiched between the heat-sealable resin layers in the joined edge portion.

    Abstract: A packaging material for batteries, which is not susceptible to the formation of a pinhole or cracking during the forming, while having excellent formability, and is effectively suppressed in curling after the forming, which is formed of a laminate with at least a base layer, an adhesive layer, a metal layer and a thermally fusible resin layer in this order, and wherein: the tensile modulus of elasticity of the base layer in one direction and the tensile modulus of elasticity of the base layer in a perpendicular direction in the same plane are both within the range of from 400 N/15 mm to 1,000 N/15 mm (inclusive); and the absolute value of the difference between the tensile modulus of elasticity of the base layer in the one direction and the tensile modulus of elasticity of the base layer in the other is 150 N/15 mm or less.

    Abstract: A valve device for a power storage device that can, when a gas is generated inside the power storage device, release the gas to the outside, and can highly prevent the intrusion of moisture from an external environment, the power storage device including: a power storage device element and a housing in which the element is housed, the valve device being attached to the housing, wherein the valve device is configured to reduce an internal pressure of the housing when the pressure increases due to a gas generated inside, and in the valve device, an amount of helium leakage from a secondary side to a primary side is 5.0×10−11 Pa·m3/sec or more and 5.0×10−6 Pa·m3/sec or less, as measured in a 25° C. environment, in accordance with a method defined in “Vacuum spraying method (spray method)” of “Method for helium leak testing” in JIS Z 2331: 2006.

    Abstract: A valve for forming a passage through an inside and an outside of a packaging container constituted by resin molded articles or films are in communication with each other includes a breakable valve that's arranged to block the passage and splits open when internal pressure of the packaging container increases due to gas generated inside the packaging container, a check valve that's arranged on a secondary side located on an outer side to the breakable valve in the passage and through which the gas is discharged from the inside of the packaging container to the outside thereof according to internal pressure of the packaging container after the breakable valve has split open, and an attachment portion that delimits at least a portion of the passage and is fixed to the packaging container in a state of being sandwiched between the resin molded articles or the films constituting the packaging container.
