Abstract: A driving assistance device includes: a risk degree obtaining portion obtaining a degree of a risk of an event threatening a safety of a driver when an occurrence of the event is predicted; a risk handling control portion controlling an execution of a risk handling measure by a risk handling unit against the event that is predicted; a risk factor obtaining portion obtaining a factor which causes the risk as a risk factor; and a presentation control portion controlling a presentation of information about the risk factor. The presentation control portion presents information indicating a presence of the risk factor when the risk handling control portion controls the risk handling unit not to execute the risk handling measure and the degree of the risk is equal to or higher than a predetermined value.

Abstract: An onboard display control apparatus mounted on a vehicle and controlling a head-up display displaying information is provided. The onboard display apparatus includes: a space information acquisition section that acquires information representing a position of an object in front of the vehicle; an eye point information acquisition section that acquires information representing a position of an eye; a display controller that determines a display mode of a display image, causing the display image to be displayed and overlapped with a specific target in a visual field of a driver; an output section that provides the display image in accordance with the display mode. The display controller adjusts the display mode of the display image based on information representing behavior of the vehicle, information representing a property of an external environment, or information representing physical ability of the driver.

Abstract: A map difference data delivery system includes a map difference data delivery device and a map data holding device. The map difference data delivery device stores map difference data representing a difference between before and after version update and delivers the map difference data. The map difference data includes map elements updated in the version update and dependent map elements by dating back to update of map elements corresponding to a different version. The dependent map elements are map elements that have a dependent relationship and need to be previously updated to avoid conflict with other map elements when updated. The map difference data delivery device groups data of the dependent map elements that have a dependent relationship in the same version.

Abstract: A server acquires location information data and direction information data. The location information data indicates a travel path of vehicles with discrete locations. The direction information data indicates a traveling direction at each location indicated by the location information data. The server generates information about a new travel route that does not exist in the map data, based on off-route location information data indicative of a travel path deviated from travel routes existing in map data. The server estimates partial travel routes indicative of parts of the new travel route, based on the off-route location information data and the direction information data indicative of associated traveling directions of vehicles. The server then estimates the shape of the new travel route, based on the estimated partial travel routes.

The another-driver recognition state determination section determines whether the subject vehicle is present in a predetermined viewable range of the other vehicle.

Abstract: A road information update system comprising a navigation apparatus and an information center is disclosed. The navigation apparatus collects a travel trace when traveling a new road not present in a road map data, and sends the collected travel trace to the information center. In a non-presented state of the presentation target information, when the given driving time becomes longer than a sum of the safe driving requisite time and the recognition requisite time, the driving assistance device presents the presentation target information.
