    Abstract: Embodiments of the invention encompass polyurethane elastomers which are a reaction product of a reaction mixture that includes a) at least one polyester made using a dicarboxylic acid having a carbon chain of from 9 to 20; b) at least one chain extender; and c) at least one polyisocyanate.     Abstract: Polyesters and polyol formulations comprising polyesters used in the preparation of polyisocyanurate rigid foams with improved green strength properties are provided. In some embodiments, a polyester which is the reaction product of (a) an aromatic component comprising 80 mole percent or greater of terephthalic acid, (b) at least one polyether polyol having a nominal functionality of 2, a molecular weight of 150 to 1,000 and a polyoxyethylene content of at least 70% by weight of the polyether polyol, (c) at least one glycol different than (b) having a nominal functionality of 2 and a molecular weight from 60 to 250, and (d) at least one polyol having a molecular weight of 60 to 250 and a nominal functionality of at least 3, wherein (a), (b), (c), and (d) are present in the reaction on a percent weight basis of 20 to 60 weight percent of (a), 20 to 50 weight percent of (b), 10 to 30 weight percent of (c), and 5 to 20 weight percent of (d) is provided.

    Abstract: Polyurethane foams including a polyurethane prepolymer composition, a catalyst, and a propellant are provided. The polyurethane prepolymer composition is produced from a formulation that includes an isocyanate reactive component in an amount of from about 1% to about 70% by weight based on the polyurethane prepolymer composition and an isocyanate component in an amount of from about 1% to about 70% by weight based on the polyurethane prepolymer composition. The isocyanate component includes toluene diisocyanate biuret in an amount of from about 1 to about 100% by weight based on the isocyanate component. The isocyanate reactive component includes one or more polyols. The polyurethane prepolymer composition has a viscosity of less than about 10,000 mPa*s at 50° C. and is substantially free of monofunctional reactive components. The polyurethane prepolymer composition also includes a free isocyanate monomer content of the toluene diisocyanate biuret of less than about 1% by weight.

    Abstract: A polyurethane elastomer, e.g., for use in polyurethane mats, includes the reaction product of an isocyanate component that includes at least one isocyanate and an isocyanate-reactive component that includes (a) a first polyol component including from 40 wt % to 90 wt % of at least one polyether polyol having an average hydroxyl functionality that is greater than 2.5 and a number average molecular weight from 300 g/mol to 1,500 g/mol; (b) a second polyol component including from 2 wt % to 20 wt % of at least one ethylene oxide capped polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene polyol having an average hydroxyl functionality greater than 1.5 and less than 4.0, a number average molecular weight from 4,000 g/mol to 6,000 g/mol, and from 60% to 85% of a primary hydroxyl group content; and (c) a third polyol component including from 1 wt % to 20 wt % of at least one polyoxypropylene polyol having an average hydroxyl functionality greater than 1.5 and less than 4.0 and a number average molecular weight from 300 g/mol to 1,500 g/mol.
