Abstract: Disclosed in embodiments herein are monolayer or multilayer films. The films include at least one layer including a) a polyethylene polymer component comprising linear low density polyethylene; and b) a wax component comprising nonpolar, polyethylene wax, wherein the nonpolar, polyethylene wax has a density of 0.955 grams/cm3 or greater, and wherein the nonpolar, polyethylene wax is present in an amount of at least 3 percent by weight of the film. Also disclosed in embodiments herein are related compositions and methods of making monolayer or multilayer films.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a multilayered article comprising a first layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer; where the thermoplastic polymer comprises polyolefin, a compatibilizer and thermoplastic starch; where the first layer does not contain any filler; and a second layer comprising a polyolefin and a filler; where the second layer does not contain any thermoplastic starch. Disclosed herein too is a method of manufacturing a multilayered article comprising coextruding a first layer and a second layer; where the first layer comprises a polyolefin, a compatibilizer and thermoplastic starch and does not contain any filler; where the second layer comprises a polyolefin and a filler and does not contain any thermoplastic starch; and where the first layer contacts the second layer.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a stretch hood or stretch label multilayer film comprising a first skin layer, a second skin layer, and a core layer disposed between the first skin layer and the second skin layer, wherein: the first skin layer, the second skin layer, or both independently comprise at least 50 wt. % of a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) resin, wherein the skin LLDPE resin exhibits each of the following properties: a Crystallization Elution Fractionation (CEF) fraction of less than 8% above an elution temperature of 94° C.; and a melt index (I2) of 0.1 to 2.0 g/10 min when measured according to ASTM D 1238 at a load of 2.16 kg and temperature of 190° C. The core layer comprises a polyethylene resin having a wt. % crystallinity of from 10% to 40% and a single melting peak as measured by differential scanning calorimetry.
