Abstract:
Alkyl ether amines are used as foam control compounds in foodstuff processing. The alkyl ether amines can be used at various stages during industrial processing of vegetables, fruits, and plants, such as potatoes and beets. The alkyl ether amines are generally of lower molecular weights and therefore easily transported to the foam layer to break the foam structure. Further, the alkyl ether amines are water soluble and therefore can be readily removed from the food processing system.

The present further describes a method for preparing a treated cellulosic material comprising (a) providing a cellulosic material; and (b) a first treatment protocol comprising impregnating the cellulosic material with an aqueous dispersion comprising a polymer, the polymer comprising a poly(meth)acrylate polymer.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides compositions and methods for inhibiting corrosion of a copper surface using a bis-imidazoline compound having an aromatic group, such as an aryl bis-imidazoline. The bis-imidazoline corrosion inhibitor can provide one or more advantage in use such as synergistic performance in aqueous and acidic media at low active dosages, resistance to decomposition or degradation in the presence of harsh reagents, ease of dispersion in an aqueous system, and improved thermal stability over conventional triazole based inhibitors. The disclosure also provides methods for the synthesis of bis-imidazoline compounds.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method for the reductive amination of diethanolamine to form a product composition that includes piperazine (PIP) and aminoethylethanolamine (AEEA). A catalyst with a transitional alumina/second metal oxide support and a mixture of catalytic metals is used for the reaction which results in low levels of non-PIP and non-AEEA side products.
