Abstract: This disclosure describes inflatable articles such as airbags for inflatable safety devices for a vehicle passenger-protecting system, a process for manufacturing said inflatable articles, hydrosilylation curable silicone elastomer compositions and their uses in assembling said inflatable safety devices. The composition used comprised an organopolysiloxane based additive which comprises at least one, alternatively at least two Si—H groups per molecule and at least one, alternatively at least two functional groups per molecule, selected from anhydride groups and epoxy groups.

Abstract: Curable silicone elastomer compositions having enhanced adhesive properties with respect to a wide variety of substrates are described. The compositions described herein are provided with a phenylmethylpolysiloxane based additive which comprises at least one, alternatively at least two Si—H groups per molecule and at least one, alternatively at least two epoxide functional groups per molecule. Said phenylmethylpolysiloxane based additives provide resulting elastomers with improved heat-humidity stabilization.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to one-piece woven airbags coated with a cured product of hydrosilylation curable silicone rubber coating compositions and to a process for coating the one-piece woven airbags with the hydrosilylation curable silicone rubber coating compositions. The resulting one-piece woven airbags coated with a cured product of the hydrosilylation curable silicone rubber coating compositions are of a reduced mean dry coat weight while maintaining the properties of previous one-piece woven airbags coated with standard, thicker coatings.

Abstract: A curable silicone elastomer composition is disclosed. The composition comprises one or more non-fluorinated polydiorganosiloxane polymers and silica filler. The silica filler is at least partially treated with a fluorinated hydrophobing treating agent. Also provided is a method of making the composition and its use in the manufacture of insulators for high voltage applications, especially high voltage direct current (HVDC) applications and accessories such as cable joints, cable terminal applications, and connectors. The fluorinated hydrophobing treating agents are selected from one or more silanol terminated fluorinated siloxane oligomer(s) having from 2 to 20 siloxane units, and/or one or more fluorinated silane diol(s), and/or one or more fluorinated trialkoxy silane(s), and/or one or more fluorinated silazane(s), or a mixture thereof.
