摘要: A fuel injection nozzle for a diesel engine. The fuel injection nozzle may include a plurality of injection hole groups, each having two injection holes respectively. A distance between the two injection holes, an angle between longitudinal axes of the two injection holes and an angle between horizontal axes of said two injection holes of each injection hole group are each set such that fuel sprays injected from said two injection holes will form a single fuel spray cloud after the fuel sprays collide with a side wall of a combustion chamber formed in a top surface of a piston of the engine, and such that the distance between collision points of the fuel sprays will be in a predetermined range in which a penetration force of said fuel spray cloud along a longitudinal direction of said combustion chamber received after collision with said wall of said combustion chamber is at or near a predetermined maximum value.

摘要: An engine exhaust gas purifier includes: an injection controller allowing a fuel injection valve to inject fuel near the top dead center on each compression stroke; an EGR amount controller for controlling the amount of exhaust gas recirculated into a combustion chamber; an excess air ratio controller for controlling the excess air ratio so that the local equivalence ratio in a late combustion stage is lower than the equivalence ratio at which soot is produced; and an intake air temperature controller for controlling the temperature of intake air after being mixed with exhaust gas. The intake air temperature controller controls the temperature of intake air within a temperature range lower than an upper temperature limit below which a predetermined ignition delay time can be secured and higher than a lower temperature limit above which the production of HC and CO can be avoided.

摘要: A wall shape of a cavity consists of an inward protruding portion located at the periphery of an opening, a center portion projecting toward a fuel injector, and a peripheral portion connecting the inward protruding portion and the center portion. The fuel injector and the cavity are configured so that fuel injected from fuel injector directs to the proximity of the border between the inward protruding portion and the peripheral portion. The peripheral portion consists of a first portion located farthermost from the fuel injector, a second portion located between the inward protruding portion and the first portion, and a third portion located between the first portion and the center portion. The radii of arcs of the peripheral portion decrease from the second portion to the first portion and increase from the first portion to the third portion.

摘要: An exemplary method of controlling an internal combustion engine system is described herein. The internal combustion engine system includes an internal combustion engine, a valve driving mechanism which reciprocally drives an intake valve and an exhaust valve for a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine, a turbocharger including a turbine and a compressor, and a first EGR passage which communicates an exhaust passage downstream of the emission control device and an intake passage upstream of the compressor. The exemplary method includes shutting off supplying fuel to the combustion chamber under a predetermined condition, and decreasing a lift of the intake or exhaust valve for the combustion chamber during the shutting off supplying fuel to the combustion chamber compared to in a case of supplying fuel to said combustion chamber.

摘要: A geometric compression ratio in an engine main body 1 is set to 15 or less. Injection control means (ECU 40) performs a main injection of injecting fuel near a compression top dead center, and a preceding injection prior to the main injection at a specific region of predetermined load within an operating region on a relatively low-speed side. The injection control means performs, as the preceding injection, a pilot injection of performing injection at a timing such that at least part of a fuel spray reaches outside a cavity 31 on a top face of a piston, and a pre-injection of injecting fuel at a predetermined timing after the pilot injection, to suppress thereby ignition of the fuel injected by the pilot injection and shorten an ignition delay of the fuel injected by the main injection.

摘要: A diesel engine body is provided with a geometric compression ratio ε within a range of 12:1 to 15:1. The engine body has an intake valve for opening and closing an intake passage of a cylinder, an exhaust valve for opening and closing an exhaust passage of the cylinder, and an exhaust gas re-circulation passage communicating with the intake and exhaust passages and for partially re-circulating exhaust to the intake passage. During low engine load and rotation speed conditions, the exhaust valve is opened during an intake stroke, and the intake passage is choked. The exhaust valve is closed before the intake valve in the later stage of the intake stroke. An opening area SE of the exhaust valve is set so that a ratio of SE to an opening area SI of the intake valve meets a relation of: 0.01×(15−ε)+0.02≦SE/SI≦0.17

摘要: A diesel engine is provided, which includes an engine body to be supplied with fuel containing diesel fuel as its main component, a geometric compression ratio being set to 15:1 or below, a fuel injection valve arranged in the engine body so as to be oriented toward a cylinder of the engine body and for directly injecting the fuel into the cylinder, and a control module for controlling a mode of injecting the fuel into the cylinder through the fuel injection valve. The control module performs a main injection where the fuel is injected to cause a main combustion mainly including a diffusion combustion and performs a plurality of pre-stage injections where the fuel is injected prior to the main injection to cause a pre-stage combustion prior to the main combustion. The control module controls the injection mode of the injections to adjust a heat release rate.
