    摘要: An energy emitting apparatus for providing a medical therapy includes one or more energy generators, a logic controller connected to the one or more energy generators, and optionally one or more sensors that are connected to the logic controller for detecting muscle stimulation or electric conduction in a target nerve. The energy generators produce energy focused on the target nerve upon receiving a signal from the logic controller, and the energy can be varied by the logic controller according to an input provided by the one or more sensors. In certain embodiments, the energy emitting apparatus includes one or more conductive coils that produce a magnetic field focused on the target nerve upon receiving an electric current. In certain embodiments, a variety of cooling mechanisms or systems may be implemented for cooling the coil.

    摘要: Energy emitting systems are provided which include an adjustable conductive coil configured to generate a magnetic or electromagnetic field focused on a target nerve. The coil includes a central aperture which may be adjustable between a first configuration and a second configuration having a radius greater than the radius of the first configuration. The adjustable or movable nature of the coil allows the conductive coil to conform to, accommodate, or be positioned on a particular anatomical structure of a patient to position the coil in proximity to the underlying target nerve. In certain embodiments, methods of magnetic induction therapy are provided which include positioning a conductive coil relative to a portion of a patient's body by adjusting the central aperture of the coil such that the coil may conform to, accommodate or be positioned on the portion of the patient's body in proximity to the underlying target nerve.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for delivery of energy by an electro-surgical instrument to a surgical site is disclosed. The apparatus delivers power to electrodes of an electro-surgical instrument during an operation performed at a surgical site. The apparatus includes a processor and a plurality of power delivery channels. The processor signals the onset of an impedance interval and a heating interval. The processor determines a target value of a control parameter to be delivered to a corresponding one of the electrodes. The plurality of power delivery channels are each coupled to the processor and to a corresponding electrode. Each of the power delivery channels responsive to signaling from the processor transitions between the impedance interval and the heating interval. Each of the power delivery channels measures, during the impedance interval, an impedance associated with a delivery of energy to the surgical site by a corresponding electrode. Each of the power delivery channels, during the heating interval, minimizes a difference between a measured value of a control parameter and the target value of the control parameter determined by the processor, to deliver the energy to the surgical site. In an alternate embodiment of the invention a method for controlling power delivery in an electro-surgical instrument is disclosed.     摘要: A portable defibrillator device has a housing including a disposable power pack and a main electronic unit. Treatment, ground pad and ECG electrodes are also included. One or more non-rechargeable batteries are positioned in the power pack, with each battery including battery contacts. An ECG detection circuit provides a control signal representative of heart activity. A defibrillation circuit is responsive to the control signal and is connected to the treatment electrode to deliver a discharge to the patient. In another embodiment, the portable defibrillator's housing includes a removable power pack and a main electronic unit. Disposed within the power pack are one or more batteries. A treatment electrode is capable of delivering a defibrillation shock and also measure ECG activity of a patient. A ground pad electrode is also included. An ECG detection circuit provides the control circuit, and a defibrillation circuit receives the control signal and delivers a treatment shock when appropriate. The defibrillation circuit is substantially positioned in the main electronic unit.
