摘要： A method and apparatus for determining the scope of a content domain for ensuring that a content stream is not re-routed to an unauthorized display device. The apparatus includes a content source device, which supports multiple display outputs coupled to one or more content sink devices. A content source application generates and provides a content stream to a hardware interface which securely transmits the content stream to a protected content sink device using a content protection protocol. The content source application utilizes certain status information to ensure that the content stream is not re-routed to an unprotected or unapproved content sink device. The source application requests the updated session identification code from the transmitter/codec unit using the content protection protocol which is compared against the expected session identification code to ensure that the content display stream has not been re-routed to an unprotected content sink device.

摘要： In one embodiment of the invention, an integrated device is described that employs a mechanism to control power consumption of a graphics memory controller hub (GMCH) through both voltage and frequency adjustment of clock signal received from a clock generator. The GMCH comprises a graphics core and a circuit to alter operational behavior, such as the frequency of a render clock signal supplied to the graphics core. The circuit is adapted to monitor idleness of the graphics core and reduce a frequency level of the render clock signal if the idleness exceeds a determined percentage of time.

摘要： A method and system according to the present invention provide for sharing memory between applications running on one or more CPUs, and acceleration co-processors, such as graphics processors, of a computer system in which the memory may retain its optimal caching and access attributes favorable to the maximum performance of both CPU and graphics processor. The method involves a division of ownership within which the shared memory is made coherent with respect to the previous owner, prior to handing placing the shared memory in the view the next owner. This arbitration may involve interfaces within which ownership is transitioned from one client to another. Within such transition of ownership the memory may be changed from one view to another by actively altering the processor caching attributes of the shared memory as well as via the use of processor low-level cache control instructions, and/or graphics processor render flush algorithms which serve to enforce data coherency. Embodiments of the invention facilitate maximal access efficiency for all clients which share the data, without the incurring the overhead of moving or replicating the data between the clients.
