Abstract:
A variable pull-off mechanism for a sewing machine is provided with a thread pull-off disc on a rotatably mounted shaft which is concentric with the drive shaft of a vertical axis looptaker. The disc is formed with thread catching edges which engage and pull-off thread from a bobbin as the disc is oscillated between a fixed and a controllable position in accordance with the operation of a servomotor responsive to various control signals.
Abstract:
An embroidery attachment for a sewing machine having electronic controls influencing the stitch forming instrumentalities. The attachment work holding frame is shifted by operative connections with the stitch forming instrumentalities. Alternative constructions are disclosed utilizing electronically controlled sewing machine needle bar and feed dog movements to drive the embroidery attachment.
Abstract:
Process for increasing the sun protection factor of cellulosic fibre materials by treating the cellulosic fibre materials with at least one direct dye and at least one UV absorber.
Abstract:
The invention relates to compounds of formula ##STR1## wherein the variables have the meanings given in the claims. The compounds are suitable for use as UV absorbers for the photochemical stabilization of undyed, dyed or printed textile fiber materials and for enhancing the sun protection factor thereof.

Abstract:
The invention relates to novel water-soluble antioxidants of formula ##STR1## wherein the variables are as defined in the claims, to a process for their preparation and to the use thereof for the photochemical and thermal stabilisation of dyed and undyed polyamide fibre materials.
Abstract:
There is described a process for the photochemical and thermal stabilization of polyamide fibre materials according to claim 1 and also novel water-soluble triazine derivatives according to claim 7.The novel process and compounds confer good thermal and photochemical stability on polyamide dyeings and fibres.
Abstract:
Processes for improving the thermal and/or photochemical stability of undyed and dyed polyamide fibers by treatment with an agent from an aqueous bath containing (A) a compound of the formula (I) defined in claim 1 and (B) a UV absorber.
Abstract:
A process for photochemical stabilization of non-dyed and dyed polyamide fibre material and mixtures thereof with other fibres which comprises treating the fibre material with a fibre-reactive copper complex of bisazomethines prepared from, for example, salicylaldehydes and aliphatic diamines is described. Some of these copper complexes used are novel compounds. The polyamide fibre material, for example textile material, thus treated largely retains its extensibility and elasticity even after relatively prolonged exposure to light. In addition, a clear improvement in light-fastness is achieved in dyed material by treatment with the metal complex.
Abstract:
A process for combating micro-organisms in or on organic or inorganic substrates and for protecting the said substrates against attack by micro-organisms, which comprises treating the substrates with a water-soluble phthalocyanine derivative, in the presence of oxygen and water and while irradiating with light in the infra-red and/or visible range, antimicrobical agents containing water-soluble phthalocyanine compounds as well as new phthalocyanine compounds are described.
