Abstract: A polarizing plate that, when being applied to an apparatus in which at least one of a display element or a visible light imaging element and an infrared light sensing system are combined, detection performance of the infrared light sensing system is excellent, and display performance is excellent when the apparatus includes the display element or imaging performance is excellent when the apparatus includes the imaging element; an apparatus; a head-mounted display; an organic electroluminescent display device; and an imaging system. In the polarizing plate, an average transmittance at a wavelength of 400 to 700 nm is 70% or more, a maximum value of a polarization degree at a wavelength of 800 to 1500 nm is 80% or more, and when a wavelength at which the polarization degree is the maximum value is defined as a wavelength λ1, a transmittance T(λ1) at the wavelength λ1 satisfies predetermined relationships.

Abstract: Provided are a conductive member for a touch panel and a manufacturing method thereof, the conductive member having a conductive layer including an opaque conductive material on a flexible transparent insulating substrate, such that damage of the conductive layer is prevented. The manufacturing method of the conductive member including a first conductive layer, an interlayer insulating layer, and a second conductive layer in this order on the flexible substrate, includes: 1) forming the first conductive layer on the substrate; 2) ef-forming the interlayer insulating layer; and 3) forming the second conductive layer, in which each of the steps 1 and 3 includes forming a fine metal wire using a photolithography method, a thickness of the interlayer insulating layer is 1 to 5 µm, and the bend resistance obtained by measuring the conductive member using a cylindrical mandrel method according to JIS-K5600-5-1 is less than 5 mm.

Abstract: Provided is a hydrophilic porous membrane including a porous membrane and a hydroxyalkyl cellulose (preferably, hydroxypropyl cellulose) retained in the porous membrane, the hydroxyalkyl cellulose having a weight-average molecular weight of 10,000 or more and less than 110,000. The hydrophilic porous membrane of embodiments of the invention has high water permeability and can pass an integrity test in the case of being used as a filtration membrane of a filter cartridge. Also provided is a method for producing the above-mentioned hydrophilic porous membrane, the method comprising causing a hydrophilizing liquid including 0.005% to 0.500% by mass of a hydroxyalkyl cellulose having a weight-average molecular weight of 10,000 or more and less than 110,000, to permeate a porous membrane.
