    摘要: The invention relates to a process for preparing a catalyst for the desulfurization of hydrocarbon streams, which comprises the steps: (a) preparation of an aqueous suspension comprising: a thermally decomposable copper source, a thermally decomposable molybdenum source, and a solid zinc source; (b) heating of the suspension to a temperature at which the thermally decomposable copper source and the thermally decomposable molybdenum source decompose so that a suspension of a precipitate comprising zinc compounds, copper compounds and molybdenum compounds is obtained; (c) cooling of the suspension obtained in step (b); (d) separation of the precipitate from the suspension; (e) drying of the precipitate. The invention further relates to a catalyst which can be obtained by the process of the invention and also to its use for the desulfurization of hydrocarbon streams.

    摘要: The water turbine of the present invention includes a housing defining a generally cylindrical chamber therein defining a laterally extending opening. Rotatably positioned within the chamber is a rotor including a plurality of folding wings or vanes extending outwardly therefrom. Each vane includes a first blade section which is immovably fixed with respect to the rotor hub and a second blade section which is pivotally secured with respect to the first blade section. This pivotal movement of the second blade toward the nonpropelling side of the vane is restricted by a stop whereas pivotal movement of the second blade section toward the propelling side of the vane is made possible. A biasing device is included to urge the second blade section into contact with the stop which is the propulsion of the vane. To protect the joined connection between the first and second blade sections a covering means preferably including an expandable and contractable baffle section may be included. With this configuration the inner covering would preferably be of a resilient material to thereby comprise the biasing device. The folding wing design of the rotor allows full operational rotation thereof with the rotor extending perhaps only partially along the laterally extending opening of the housing. The rotor can be of any vertical dimension depending on the normal surrounding environment of the particular water in which a specific turbine is being positioned. In this manner a water turbine device for utilizing the kinetic energy of moving water by transferring it into electrical energy is created.

    摘要: A process for the chemical treatment of an effluent containing at least one organic compound selected from the group consisting of an organometallic compound and an organic compound containing at least one of phosphorus, nitrogen and halogen, comprising treating the effluent hydrolytically for about 20 to 200 minutes at a temperature above about 100.degree. C. under a pressure above about 2 bars and a pH of about 1 to 14. Advantageously, a catalyst comprising activated carbon or kieselguhr is added to the effluent before the hydrolytic treatment and the hydrolytic treatment is carried out in the presence of ammonia or a primary or secondary amine. The organic compound may be an acid ester, a dye, or quaternary ammonium compound, a cyanide, a nitrile, a cyanate, an isocyanate, hydrazine, an organic derivative of hydrazine, an azo compound or an organometallic compound and the effluent may be aftertreated as with hypochlorite or H.sub.2 O.sub.2.
