    摘要: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a rubber composition involving thermomechanically mixing in a preparatory mixing step at least one sulfur vulcanizable elastomer, a particulate filler and an unsymmetrical organosilicon disulfide compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein Z is selected from the group consisting of: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.2 may be the same or different and is independently selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbons and phenyl; R.sup.3 may be the same of different and is independently selected from the group consisting of alkoxy groups having 1 to 8 carbon atoms and cycloalkoxy groups with 5 to 8 carbon atoms; and R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group having a total of 1 to 18 carbon atoms and a substituted or unsubstituted arylene group having a total of 6 to 12 carbon atoms.

    摘要: A method of preparing a pre-formed elastomer/filler composite of a diene-based elastomer and particulate filler dispersed therein by polymerizing monomers in the presence of said filler with a polymerization promoting catalyst in which at least a portion of said catalyst is pre-deposited on said filler. Such pre-formed elastomer composite is also contemplated as well as a rubber composition comprised of a blend of such pre-formed composite and at least one additional elastomer. Such filler may be, for example, precipitated silica, carbon black and/or a modified carbon black. A tire having a component of such composite or rubber composition such as, for example a tread, is also provided.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a rubber composition comprising (A) an elastomer containing olefinic unsaturation and (B) 35 to 110 phr of silica filler, wherein said silica filler is comprised of (i) 10 to 100 phr of a first silica having a pore size distribution maximum of the aggregates in the first silica ranging from greater than 55 to 400 nm as determined by mercury porosimetry and an average specific surface area ranging from 60 to 135 m2/g as determined by N2 adsorption; and (ii) 10 to 100 phr of a second silica having a pore size distribution maximum of the aggregates in the second silica ranging from 5 to 50 nm as determined by mercury porosimetry and an average specific surface area ranging from 140 to 250 m2/g as determined by N2 adsorption.
