Abstract: Embodiments include a battery pack having a balanced current collector plate configured to connect a plurality of battery cells to one another and an electric vehicle including the same. The balanced current collector plate includes a terminal and a plurality of cell connection regions, each corresponding to one of the plurality of battery cells. Each of the plurality of cell connection regions includes one or more sidewalls, a cell connection tab that is configured to contact a terminal of a battery cell, and a cell fuse that is configured to electrically connect the cell connection tab to the balanced current collector plate. The geometry of each of the plurality of cell connection regions is configured to minimize a difference among the current draw between each of the plurality of battery cells and the terminal.

A processor determines a stator heat loss at the stator based on the motor torque, the motor speed, and the stator temperature, determines a rotor heat loss at the rotor based on the motor torque, the motor speed, and the rotor temperature, and controls flow of a stator coolant stream through the stator at a stator coolant flow rate based on the stator heat loss and a rotor coolant stream through the rotor at a rotor coolant flow rate based on the rotor heat loss.

Abstract: A rotor for an electric machine includes a rotor body formed from a plurality of stacked laminations defining a first axial end and an opposing second axial end. Each of the plurality of stacked laminations includes a plurality of openings that are aligned so as to define a plurality of passages through the rotor body. A plurality of reinforcement elements extend through the plurality of stacked laminations. Each of the plurality of reinforcement elements is arranged in a corresponding one of the plurality of passages and includes a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion and the second end portion of select ones of the plurality of reinforcement elements extend outwardly of the first axial end and the second axial end.

Abstract: According to several aspects of the present disclosure, a battery module housing cooling assembly is disclosed. The battery module housing cooling assembly can include an endwall including a first polymer plate and a second polymer plate that define a slot therebetween. At least one of the first polymer plate or the second polymer plate define a channel therein that is configured to receive a coolant fluid, and the slot is configured to receive an electrical connector. The battery module housing cooling assembly can also include a cooling plate defining a first connection port and a second connection port, wherein the first connection port and a second connection port are configured to provide the coolant fluid to the channel.

Abstract: A battery pack having a plurality of battery modules is provided. Each of the plurality of battery modules includes a thermally conductive frame having a plurality of apertures and a plurality of battery cells, wherein each of the plurality of battery cells is disposed in one of the plurality of apertures. Each of the plurality of battery modules also includes a heating element disposed on a top of the thermally conductive frame and a cooling plate disposed on a bottom of the thermally conductive frame. The thermally conductive frame includes a plurality of cooling ribbons disposed between at least two of the plurality of apertures, wherein each of the plurality of cooling ribbons extend from top of the thermally conductive frame to the bottom of the thermally conductive frame.
