    Abstract: In various embodiments, methods and systems are provided for controlling charging for a plurality of electric vehicles, each of the plurality of electric vehicles including a respective battery that is charged electrically via a respective charger. In one exemplary embodiment: (i) vehicle data, including respective charge statuses for the respective batteries of the plurality of electric vehicles, via sensors onboard the plurality of electric vehicles; (ii) charging station data, including respective availabilities for the plurality of charging stations, is obtained; (iii) the plurality of electric vehicles are each paired with respective charging stations, generated paired sets of electric vehicles and charging stations, based on the vehicle data and the charging station data, via a processor; and (iv) charging of respective batteries of the electric vehicles are controlled with the respective paired charging stations, via the processor.

    Abstract: Vision sensor detection systems and methods for mobile platforms that proactively prepare for impending lighting scenarios. The method includes determining or predicting a lighting scenario (LS) as a function of GPS data and wirelessly received mapping data. An on-board camera system is then operated in the LS using an associated predefined profile (PDP) having a tone-mapping setting associated with the LS. Received sensor data and camera data is used to confirm each predicted and current LS; Each predicted LS change results in retrieval of an associated PDP with its tone-mapping setting. Each confirmed LS results in using the sensor data and camera data to customize the tone-mapping setting. The method cycles during operation of the mobile platform.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for optimizing traffic control device detection are provided. The method includes: determining whether a first vehicle is traveling to an intersection with a traffic control device and whether the first vehicle is within a predetermined distance of the intersection; in response to determining that the first vehicle is traveling to the intersection with the traffic control device and that the first vehicle is within the first predetermined distance of the intersection, scanning for the traffic control device; controlling the first vehicle to increase a distance between the first vehicle and a second vehicle in front of the first vehicle if the scanning fails to detect the traffic control device; and controlling the first vehicle to maintain the distance between the first vehicle and the second vehicle in front of the first vehicle if the scanning detects the traffic control device.

    Abstract: A side rear view camera is located at a driver or passenger side of the vehicle, captures video beside and behind the vehicle, and has a predetermined field of view (FOV). The predetermined FOV is defined by a first predetermined horizontal angle of view (AOV) and a first predetermined vertical AOV. A display is located and visible within a passenger cabin of the vehicle. A display module, on the display: displays a first portion of the video from within a first predetermined portion of the predetermined FOV, the first predetermined portion of the predetermined FOV being defined by a second predetermined horizontal AOV and a second predetermined vertical AOV; and selectively displays a second portion of the video from within a second predetermined portion of the predetermined FOV, the second predetermined portion of the predetermined FOV being defined by a third predetermined horizontal AOV and a third predetermined vertical AOV.
