    摘要: The invention includes embodiments that relate to a method of making an organic light-emitting device comprising at least one bilayer structure. The method comprises providing at least one first layer comprising at least one cross-linkable organic material and at least one photo acid generator; exposing the first layer to a radiation source to afford a cross-linked first layer; and disposing at least one second layer on the cross-linked first layer. The method affords a bilayer structure having an enhanced structural integrity relative to the corresponding bilayer structure in which the first layer is not cross-linked. The invention also includes embodiments that relate to an organic light emitting device.

    摘要: An electrooptic device and a surface modified electrode comprising a reduced organic material are provided. The reduced organic materials lower the work function of an electrode surface; they are also electro-active. These capabilities facilitate their use in production of more efficient electrooptic devices. The electrooptic device has at least a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer, and an electro-active layer comprising the reduced organic material disposed between the first and second conductive layers. The surface modified electrode comprises at least one conductive layer and at least one reduced organic material disposed upon a surface of said conductive layer. Methods for using the organic electro-active material for producing electrooptic devices, and operating the electrooptic devices are also disclosed. Coating compositions and coated articles comprising the reduced organic materials are also provided.

The method comprises the steps of determining a desired sequence of two or more polymers in a multi-layered device; for each of the two or more polymers in the desired sequence, identifying a solubility window in a solubility graph, and selecting a solvent based on the solubility window such that the solvent does not dissolve a preceding polymer in the desired sequence; depositing each of the two or more polymers from its selected solvent; and forming a multi-layered device having the two or more polymers in the desired sequence.

    摘要: Novel metal porphyrin compositions useful as organic phosphors are provided. The novel compositions are prepared from commercially available porphyrin-containing starting materials. In one instance a novel palladium-containing porphyrin composition having a number average molecular weight of greater than 12,000 grams per mole was prepared from 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(3′,5′-di(hydroxy)phenyl)-21H-23H-porphyrin by reaction first with palladium(II) acetylacetonate, followed by reaction with 2-bromo-2-methylpropionyl bromide, and subsequent group transfer reaction of the alpha-bromo ester groups with 9,9-dioctyl-2-vinylfluorene in the presence of CuBr as a radical initiator. The product polymer exhibited a number average molecular weight of 12,884 grams per mole, a weight average molecular weight of 14,338 grams per mole, and a robust red phosphorescent emission. Porphyrin containing copoylmers comprising structural units derived from 9,9-dioctyl-2-vinylfluorene and 9-anthracenylmethyl methacrylate were prepared in a similar fashion.
