    摘要： A microstructured antimicrobial film, an antimicrobial film assembly, a method of protecting a surface from microbial contamination, and a method of making a microstructured antimicrobial film. The microstructured antimicrobial film can include a substrate having a first side that includes a first major surface, a plurality of microstructured wells defined in the first side of the substrate, and an antimicrobial material positioned within at least some of the plurality of wells. Each of the plurality of wells can be at least partially defined by a base that is spaced a distance from the first major surface of the substrate. The antimicrobial material can be positioned, such that an upper surface of the antimicrobial material is spaced a distance from the first major surface of the substrate. The antimicrobial film assembly can include a roll or a stack of microstructured antimicrobial films.

    摘要： A warning system for alerting a person to an emergency situation which includes a transmitter responsive to a visual or acoustic alerting system for transmitting an alarm signal on an RF carrier and a control signal on a sideband of the carrier. A tuneable receiver for receiving commercial broadcasts in a normal operating mode transfers to an emergency mode upon detection of the control signal and converts the alarm signal to an acoustic signal. In one embodiment, the visual or acoustic alerting system is a siren and light system of an emergency vehicle. In this embodiment, a transceiver is preferably included for dedicated communications among emergency vehicles. The range of both the transmitter and transceiver complement and are substantially the same as the effective range of the visual or acoustic alerting system.

    摘要： Provided are abrasive articles having a plurality of elongated channels extending across its working surface and intersecting with each other. These channels provide hinge points that enhance flexibility of the article along two or more directions. Optionally, the abrasive article includes a flexible attachment layer, along with apertures that penetrate through the attachment layer located at the intersection points of the channels. The enhanced flexibility allows the abrasive article to easily access recessed areas of the workpiece and facilitates applying even pressure across convex and concave surfaces. The channels assist in segregating dust particles from the abrading operation, and the optional apertures can be advantageously connected to a vacuum source for evacuation of the dust particles from the channels.

    摘要： An adhesive blend includes a pressure sensitive adhesive and non-tacky microspheres that function as a detackifier. The non-tacky microspheres are solid, elastomeric, non-crushable, and solvent insoluble. The non-tacky microspheres are a reaction product of at alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers having from 1 to 14 carbon atoms, multifunctional (meth)acrylate and or multifunctional vinyl crosslinker, initiator, and polymeric stabilizer. The blend can be coated onto a sheet to form a pad, such as an easel pad.
