Abstract: A pet mode door and suspension control system and method includes determining whether a door control action has occurred with respect to a door on the vehicle. When determined that the door control action has occurred, the system and method further includes determining whether a pet mode control action is needed. When determined that the pet mode control action is needed, a suspension control command is sent to suspension control system for raising and/or lowering at least one side of the vehicle and a door control command is sent to a power control unit for opening or closing the door in accord with the door control action.

Abstract: A system for preventing accidents includes an eye gaze detector for receiving an eye gaze vector from a driver. The system additionally comprises a proximity sensor for detecting locations of nearby objects and their velocities. A risk is determined based on the nearby object location and velocity. Additionally, the driver's knowledge of vehicle circumstances is determined based on the nearby object location and velocity as well as the eye gaze location. Responsive to the driver's knowledge and the risk, an alert is activated.

Abstract: A method and system for providing absolute coordinate mapping using zone mapping input in a vehicle includes determining a touch input received on a touchpad located in the vehicle, presenting an absolute mapped position of the touch input on a display screen located in the vehicle, presenting one or more user interface objects on the display screen, and providing a plurality of display input zones corresponding to one or more user interface objects presented on the display screen. Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for a morphable pad and display configured for tactile control. The system comprises a display for displaying a user interface comprising a layout of vehicle control features. The display is configured to highlight a portion of the layout associated with a received highlight input, and to update the layout based on a received selection input. A morphable pad is connected to the display and comprises an array of switches. Each switch is configured to receive highlight input and selection input. The switches are also configured to adjust in tactile feel to match the layout, and to reconfigure in tactile feel responsive to a change in the layout.

Abstract: An infotainment computer device for use in controlling an infotainment system in a vehicle is provided. The infotainment computer device includes at least one processor communicatively coupled to at least one memory device and a display device communicatively coupled to the at least one processor. The infotainment computer device is programmed to display an active page and a toolbar. The active page includes a plurality of buttons and the toolbar includes a shortcut area including at least one shortcut button. The infotainment computer device is also programmed to receive a first input requesting access to a customization mode, retrieve a current speed of the vehicle, activate the customization mode if the current speed of the vehicle is zero, receive a second input indicating a desired change to at least one of the active page and the toolbar, and change the display based on the desired change.

Abstract: A system and method for controlling an electronic system is presented. An icon is displayed on a display. The icon is associated with a function of the electronic system and has an entrance zone about a center of the icon and an exit zone about the center of the icon. The exit zone is larger than the entrance zone. A location of a gaze of a user upon the display is detected using an eye gaze detection system. When the location of the gaze of the user is within the entrance zone, an indication that the icon is selected is presented. When the location of the gaze of the user is outside the exit zone, an indication that the icon is deselected is presented.

Abstract: According to one or more aspects, systems and methods for human-vehicle interaction are described herein. A touchpad may include a first touchpad zone and a second touchpad zone. A display may include a first display zone and a second display zone, which correspond to the first touchpad zone and the second touchpad zone, respectively. A processor may execute instructions stored on a memory to perform rendering a first application in a first mode within the first display zone of the display and rendering a second application in a second mode within the second display zone of the display. The processor, in response to an input from the touchpad, may render the already running second application in a first mode within the first display zone of the display and render the first application in a second mode within the second display zone of the display.

Respective pixels or portions of the graphic input may be binned or indexed into color code bins. Each color code bin may be indicative or be associated with a color or color code. Sample color gradients may be assigned color codes based on counts for respective color code bins. A background or layers may be generated based on the sample color gradients.
